Rose sunk into the comfy arm chair, deep into the library.
Her eyes scanned the pages quickly, turning them as fast as possible. Although she preferred to enjoy her literature nice and slow, as soon as she started to get engrossed she couldn't help but increase her speed to frantic levels.
To the casual observer (not that there were many, midst welcoming week in the deepest corners of the library) Rose was reading A Midsummer's Night Dream (Hardcover, with extended annotations and analysis) but in reality, her focus was on a particularly lengthy (and steamy) Harry Potter fanfic she had personally printed out and folded into a booklet.
It's not that Rose was afraid of being caught; she just liked the image it gave her. Studious and somewhat nerdy was better than flagrant geekery of the perverse kind. At least in terms of highschool social food chain survival.
Rose had learnt that one the hard way.
Not even the occasional sound distracted her anymore, immersed as she was.
