A draining evening

This week we parked the HOW in Bellevue in a really nice spot and convenient to everyplace we need to be. We are actually in a friend’s driveway and while not having full hookups we are able to use solar power. When it gets steamy hot or we need to use the washer dryer, we can turn on the genny and have some air-conditioning.   The past several nights were cool so all we needed was our built-in fans.  

Sunday, September 5, 2016 we had our first dinner party (actually brunch) in HOW.   We invited the couple over and Becky whipped up a delicious fish salad and baked some bread and cookies.  It was a far cry from our usual dinner parties at the house but with cloth napkins complimenting paper plates it didn’t feel too prosaic. I think it was a great trial run of having people over for a meal.   We have plenty of room and we were not cramped (not sure how our guests felt, but they left happy and the cookies were gone).

Last evening, we had another couple come by for drinks and to show off our new home.  While here, there was an unfortunate dropping of reading glasses in our toilet.  The rest of the evening was spent trying to remove the glasses from the holding tank. I won’t go into the fetid detail, however, the glasses were retrieved before they reached the macerator.  I’m thinking she might be reading some crappy novels for the next few days.
