The Human Bake-Oven
“The patient is placed upon a table which is pulled out on rollers, and after being robed in Turkish bath robe, stocks, mittens, etc., is shoved back into the oven. All but the head is then subjected to an intense dry heat which can be increased to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. The heat drives the germs from the blood and removes pain in a most remarkable manner by producing profuse but comfortable perspiration.”
