***SANITY PRAYER CHALLENGE*** SCRIPTURE: 1 Corinthians 12:9 One in 5 adults will have some sort of mental illness within the next year. Mental illness ranges from fears/phobias to schizophrenia...we ALL know someone who has a mental illness. There are some who arr more mild & others who are debilitating & holds them prisoner in their own head. The good news is God's grace is enough to get us through each & every day. HIS grace is made stronger by our weakness. When we can acknowledge our weaknesses & embrace the strength of God, our lives are much better. Come with me today into the heavenly throne room as I ask God to give us strength to boast about our weaknesses so that others know HIS strength. Ask that God cover ALL who suffer from mental illness with HIS grace to get us through another day. Dear God of Grace & Mercy, I come before YOUR throne today humbled by my weaknesses, forgive me Lord when I forget that YOUR grace is enough! Thank YOU Abba Father for picking me up in my weakest moments & giving me the strength to stand. I praise YOU God for YOUR amazing grace! Lord God, I ask today that YOU enable YOUR children to embrace their weakness & see that YOU & YOU alone are where our strength comes from. Ignite a fire in YOUR body, the church, to minister to those with mental illness. Send leaders who know how to lead us ALL ever closer to YOU & teach us to walk in YOUR will. Jehovah, YOU are our provision & our protection in every situation, come along side of those who have mental illness & give them YOUR peace that surpasses all understanding. Help us as your children to act on YOUR behalf & show those who have been hurt OR are hurting that YOU are their hope & strength. For those who are so low that they are considering leaving this world, Lord, I ask YOU to remove from their minds the negative self thoughts that Satan whispers at every turn. Send warring angels to protect us in our weakest moments & get us through another day. ***SANITY PRAYER CHALLENGE*** SCRIPTURE: Psalm 34:17-20 Ever been face down on the bathroom tile because that was the only place you could breathe? Crushed spirits can land in cold, dark & dirty places. Broken hearts seem to shatter in far more pieces when they hit tile. Sometimes life hurts & even breaks us BUT the beauty cones when Christ puts us back together. Think about a mosaic piece of art or furniture...the beauty can be amazing. Now think about the artist being Chist & how HE can mold & make us into such beautiful vessels, if we only allow him. Join me today as I pray for those who are broken & crushed, that they allow the creator to work HIS masterpiece in their lives. Ask that God show us all our mended places & the healing HE has done in our lives. Creator of ALL things, I come to YOU today remembering the cold tile of that bathroom floor & I am reminded of how near YOU were to me when I didn't even have a clue & how YOU put my crushed spirit back together!! Thank YOU Father for the healing YOU poured out on me & continue to daily. I praise YOU for YOUR unconditional love which is so vast that I can't even comprehend how truly amazing it is. Lord, I come begging today that YOU will heal that woman or man who has had their heart broken by love the lack thereof. Pour YOUR love out on them ALL. I ask YOU Abba Father to allow the broken & crushed to literally feel YOUR arms wrap around them. Equip YOUR body, the church, to reach, teach & love like Jesus. Give ua hearts that accept people right where they are. Mighty God in Heaven YOU can deliver even the hardest of hearts from the darkest of circumstances so God I ask that YOU deliver all who struggle with mental illness today & every day here after. ***SANITY PRAYER CHALLENGE*** SCRIPTURE: Psalm 139:7-12 Have you ever felt invisible? I sure have. Thing is God can see us no matter where we are, no matter how dark it is, no matter how messy it is. That's good news! Come along today as I ask God to make those who feel invisible STAND OUT. Help them to feel HIS love no matter how low they are. Lord give YOUR children a desire to LOVE like they have never been hurt. Dear God who is EVERYWHERE, I come before YOUR throne today saying that it's easy to feel invisible in this world today where chaos is the new normal. Forgive me Lord when I think YOU can't see me OR have left me alone. Thank you Abba Father for being there even in my messiest mess. I praise YOU for YOUR omniscience & omnipresence! God I ask that anyone who reads this post today who feels invisible please let them STAND OUT in the chaos of life, help others to see them & love on them. ***SANITY PRAYER CHALLENGE*** SCRIPTURE: Philippians 4:6-7 There is nothing that will test a girl's sanity like having family states away & in the hoapital. Wanna talk about anxiety!!! This scripture was so needed this morning. Anxiety can run wild when we KNOW that we can't control things happening with those we love. Christians who are far more mature than me realize that they truly control nothing. Then there are those of us who feel like everything is spinning out of control when we realize that we can't be with those who need us OR we are states away in a crisis. This scripture reminds us that we don't have to hit the panic button, all we have to do is take our requests to God & put them into the hands that controls the wind, the rain, global warming & the hanging of the earth on nothing. HE has it all in control. Join me today as I pray & ask God to give ALL those with any anxiety today the peace that surpasses all understanding. Ask that God take care of loved ones who are far away & not feeling well. Father God, I come to YOU today confessing that when we have loved ones in the hospital & we are so far away that it is so easy to forget who is really in control. Forgive me yet again for selling YOU short & getting tunnel vision. Thank YOU Lord for ministering to us when we least expect it & for hearing our prayers. I praise YOU Abba Father for YOUR amazing grace. Please help all of us who have anxiety today to remember that YOU are in control. I ask YOU to pour YOUR peace that surpasses ALL understanding out on our family & anyone else who feels helpless today. Calm the storm going on within us again today. ***SANITY PRAYER CHALLENGE*** SCRIPTURE: Romans 8:38-39 I don't know about all y'all but this ole girl can throw a pity party in no time flat. It's easy for us to get to feeling like we are not enough OR that we are too much for folks. Society tells us that we have to look a certain way, be a certain way & that IF we have morals then the world labels us. The labels we are tagged with include everything from deplorable to fat, crazy to dysfunctional, redneck to racist, OR homophobic to xenophobic. These couple verses from Romans 8 remind us that we can't be too anything to separate us from God's love for us!!! Rest in that today! Come along as I ask God to allow ALL who struggle with the labels of society to be reminded today that there is NOT enough crazy to separate God from HIS children. Ask the Lord to empower us to own the "ME" HE created ME to be. Heavenly Father above, I come to YOU today confessing that it is so easy to get caught up in labels that the world puts on me. Forgive me when I forget the ME YOU made ME to be. Thank YOU God for the words in these verses today. I praise YOU for the way YOU made me. Abba Father, I ask that YOU please help ALL of those who feel like they are NOT enough OR they are TOO much for YOU to love to KNOW that they KNOW that YOU love them. Equip YOUR children to own who YOU made us to be!!! I ask that YOU hush the negative voices in our heads & replace them with words from YOU...fill our hearts & minds with words like CHOSEN...BLESSED...ADOPTED...SET APART & LOVED. ***SANITY PRAYER CHALLENGE*** SCRIPTURE: Isaiah 43:2 Last night we watched THE SHACK yet again. Everytime we watch it something new hits me. Last night it was that grief can take us to places we never want to be BUT as a child of God we are never alone. God, the Holy Spirit & Jesus walked every step with the grieving father. He knew that God was real BUT he really didn't KNOW God. We often don't take the time to KNOW HIM. When you have a mental illness, be it Bipolar or fear of spiders, we need a little help sometimes to get through it. Sometimes medicine is enough & sometimes Jesus is enough. Then there are those times when your spouse or your teenager will test BOTH the prozac & the Jesus in you. The good news is we are NOT alone. When we feel like life is too hard for us to even bother with Jesus will hold our hand & lead us through the rough waters. Today let's pray for those who feel overwhelmed by life. Ask God to send them HIS peace & to place loving angels around them to simply love them up. Help us to step out of our comfort zone & ask for help when needed & to lend a hand whenever possible. Dear Loving Father in Heaven, I come to YOU today confessing that in the craziest times of life I can feel overwhelmed & alone. Forgive me Lord when I forget that YOU are holding me, not the other way around. Thank YOU, Abba Father, for going with me into the rough waters & pulling me out on the other side. I praise YOU for YOUR strength & love. God, I ask that YOU help me to know when I need help from friends & family to make it through the day & grant me the strength to ask for the help needed. Surround ALL who are overwhelmed with life with angels who will love them like YOU do. Equip YOUR children to be proactive in lending a hand to those in need whether it is a physical or emotional need. Empower YOUR children to encourage each other & to love on those who need it the most. Give us ALL a desire for YOU that is greater than any water we may go through OR any earthly demand.
