Ragna and Tsukuyomi
So we all know how the three siblings seem to be tied to the Sankishin in Blazblue right?
Noel/Saya is the reflection of the Origin’s soul and also sort of IS the Origin, who pilots the Master Unit and therefore is synonymous with it.
Jin is also Hakumen, aka the White Susano’o.
But while Ragna did utilize the Tsukuyomi Unit when he needed to go back in time, that seems to be the only case when the third Sankishin is used bu the main heroes as it is usually associated with Rachel.
But, Ragna and Tsukuyomi actually kind of fit personality wise, at least IMO from the perspective of the one known Tsukuyomi Myth.
I mean, Amaterasu and Susano’o have their dual myth where the compete in making gods which then branch off into their individual stories with Amaterasu and the Cave, and Susano’o vs Yamata no Orochi. Both are kind of big deals with how one brought endless night with absence and the other involved the slaying of a great monster and the acquisition of a powerful artifact. But Tsukuyomi’s myth is pretty lame in comparison.
As we know Tsukuyomi was both the brother and spouse of Amaterasu (a more unfortunate similarity given Saya and her various incarnations’ affection towards Ragna). He was sent in her stead to a feast hosted by Uke Mochi, goddess of food, but when Uke Mochi produced the food via barfing it out, even though it looked phenomenal, Tsukuyomi was disgusted and decapitated her. This dishonored Amaterasu who then separated from him, resulting in the Day and Night cycle. (This is just one variation of the myth I know).
So, we got someone who reacts aggressively, and a bit over the top, to someone doing something weird, kind of wacky, but overall harmless. Tsukuyomi decapitating Uke Mochi because she barfed out the food even though it looked delicious and probably tasted fine. Ragna being a bit of a loud asshole when he has to deal with either his associates’ zany weirdness or them being assholes. Seems like a good comparison to me. Like you sort of get it, who’d want to eat vomited out food, and a lot of the Blazblue cast CAN seem annoying, but their responses CAN be a bit extreme.
Fact of the day
The Tsukuyomi Unit isn’t just owned by Rachel, it’s actually inside of her.

None may trespass on this realm. Were one to attempt to pierce through the shield, Something more terrifying than death itself lies in wait.
