Halp! My date's a criminal!
This is yet again another Skype RP between me and SansaraNirajMun/DrellvanguardMun.
Setting: Days after her second date with Kolyat, Sirena still feels disappointed an anxious from Kolyat's not-so-inspiring revelation.
She sends a voice message to Asul and Ellie's terminal. It sounded frantic, and short - Sirena stuttering as she asked them if she could stop by their ship as soon as they came back 'home'.
SansaraNiraj: -Ellie is lounging on the chair next to Asul while he pilots back to the Citadel when she receives the voice message. She is instantly worried and send back a message-
[Voice msg] Siri, hun, we're on our way back. Please be alright, we'll be there in about....An hour or so. Come by the ship without hesitation, Asul will send you the dock number once we get there.
-They arrive later, like Camellia said, about an hour, and Asul wastes no time in sending Sirena the dock they were assigned-
Sirena: Sirena, wearing a set of jean shorts, a plain blue t-shirt, and yellow sneakers, wasted no time to arrive at the docks. In 20 minutes, she was already there, gazing up at the curiously oval shape of the Icarus. Walking up the entrance, Sirena sent a message via omni-tool that she had arrived. Then she stood back, fidgeting on her feet and biting her bottom lip as she waited for the doors to slide open.
SansaraNiraj: Camellia opens the door, seeing Sirena standing there, she quickly pulled her friend into a hug.
"Come on in, sweetie," she pulled back, not being able to smile a bit, glad to see her friend, but quickly getting a worried gaze. "You can tell me all about it inside, come on," she kept an arm around Sirena's shoulder as she walked her inside.
Asul had stayed at the bridge, meeting them once they were inside. He instantly walked up and placed a hand on Sirena's shoulder, keeping his expression composed. "Did someone hurt you?"
Sirena: "I-I no. Not really?" Sirena's worried gaze turned confused. "But it feels like it.", she added in a whisper still loud for them to hear.
SansaraNiraj: Camellia and Asul gave each other a pointed look before Camellia began leading Sirena to the Icarus' small star observatory. Having her sit, Camellia plopped down next to her, still holding onto one of her arms to comfort her. "You'll have to explain that, Siri."
"At least you aren't physically hurt," Asull huffed, sitting on the other side of Sirena. "So...what happened then?"
Sirena: "Re-remember that time I came here telling you I met this person and he asked me out?" Sirena looked at them both sheepishly. "You know the tall blue and teal colored drell I met at the Presidium Park?"
"Well, the first date was so great we went on a second one."
SansaraNiraj: Camellia quickly nodded urging her to go on.
"Yes?" Asul quirked an eyebrow, crossing his arms over his chest. "What happened?"
Sirena: "I-he... You were right, Asul.", Sirena choked. "I-I shouldn't have. I mean.... It was too good. Someone I meet likes me enough to ask me out on a date on the first day? I shouldn't have ignored how strange that was, or expect anything good of it."
SansaraNiraj: "Ok, now I'm really worried," Camellia squeezed Sirena's hand, her brow furrowed with concern. "What did he do? Oh gods I swear I'll kick his inner gonads to-"
"What the hell did he do?" Asul interrupted Sirena, now fully turned to face her, the drell's brown irises barely visible beneath his deep frown. Though he looked angry, the feeling was directed at the drell Sirena had gone out with.
Sirena: Sirena eeped, not quite ready for Asul's quick shift in mood, and finally blurted out the reason of her worries, "He tried killing people!"
"W-well, not in the restaurant", she tried clarifying. "He did that before the dates, from the way he spoke of it." Sirena was clearly shaking a little by now, "Two charges for attempted murder."
The clarification, obviously, does not make it sound any better in her mind.
SansaraNiraj: Camellia glared at Asul over Sirena's head before quickly turning her attention back to Sirena, her eyes wide with surprise. "What? He attempted murder?" Camellia looked puzzled, since it certainly didn't fit the description by what Sirena had told her of the guy. Still, people surprised her everyday. "Wait, is he avoiding C-Sec? Is C-Sec trying to get him? Damn, I'll call Sisel right now if I have to."
Asul growled very lowly but it was still a bit audible as it reverberated around his chest. The drell stood up then, pacing the small observatory before finally stopping in front of the glass panel, glancing down at the Citadel below, various ships coming and going in the docks. He pondered over what to say, but everything that was going through his mind was going to come out sounding very mean.
Sirena: "No... tha-that's another thing that shocked me really. Not at the moment he told me, be-because I was a bit busy with trying to reconcile the image I had of him with that of a would-be murderer.... C-Sec already knows."
Sirena gazed worriedly at Asul as he lead himself away to look at The Citadel through a glass panel, "Asul?"
SansaraNiraj: Camellia pouted as she pondered over what Sirena told her. "Hmm, I could ask Sisel about it...But," she sighed heavily and glanced at Sirena. "You do know that even C-Sec has out of the record deals right? Like, how do you say...'por debajo de la mesa'," though the tone was serious, she hoped her Spanish (which Sirena had taught her some) sounded alright. Finally, she glanced at her boyfriend, nothing that he was probably getting his thoughts together. "Sul, babe...The important thing is Sirena is alright..."
Asul looked at the humans then, his frown back in his face then. "But I was right then-" there went his attempt to not sound too harsh. "This...asking out someone right off from a first meeting. It was suspicious, of course it was...Murder attempts damn-" he cut off, rubbing his temple as he attempted composure once more. "Was he a Compact assassin?" he then realized the claim sounded silly. "Scratch that. Compact assassins simply don't get caught like that..."
Sirena: "Probation. That's what he got for it. And being monitored at all times. You are right, it has to have been a deal, I heard of a lot lesser crimes getting harsher punishments than that."
Sirena covered her face with her hands. "At worst, I expected him to be a creeper like you said he could be Asul. I can't believe I wish that had been the case.", she groans.
SansaraNiraj: Camellia shook her head at the revelation. "Probation for murder...Hm, it really shouldn't surprise with the stories Sisel has told me..."
Asul breathed out slowly as he went back to glance out the glass pane. "Sirena, you can't possibly tell whether someone is a killer -or attempted for that matter- just by looking at them. That's even part of training as an assassin in the Compact," his mind was flooded with the memories, though he managed to contain them. "You don't act like you're up to something, or like you did something for that matter. Assassins are supposed to blend with any regular person in the crowd..."
Camellia glanced at Asul, worried that he might slip into a memory. "Asul...Come on back here and sit down."
"I'm fine," he retorted with an even tone.
Sirena: "Well then... I think he must be a flunked one. Because first, for whatever reason it was, he did not go through with the two assassination attempts. Second, he got caught. And third, he told me about it in a public restaurant."
SansaraNiraj: Asul shook his head then, finally looking at the two women. "Then clearly he's just either someone disturbed, very stupid, or just someone who thought himself experienced enough."
Camellia patted Sirena's back. "Are you going to be alright? I mean, stupid question I know...I mean, learning you were going out with someone who attempted murder can't be easy."
Sirena: Sirena closed her eyes and sighed, feeling more relaxed under Camellia's comforting pats, "He... he let me go."
"I-I almost cried right there, and I told him that if he cared for anything at all, he would let me out without trying to stop me."
"And he let me go."
SansaraNiraj: "You don't know how glad I am that nothing happened to you," Camellia breathed out a long sigh of relief. "The nerve to withhold that information and take you out to two dates..." she grumbled at that, frowning at that.
"Just-" Asul sighed before he continued, walking over to stand in front of Sirena and Camellia. "Promise you'll be more careful next time...You need to be more malicious. And I'm not saying don't talk to people...but just don't go straight to something more...compromising as a date from the get go..."
Sirena: Sirena looked up at Asul. She had learned to expect his stern expression when he becomes worried. And this time, he was worried over her. She wondered if she had done the right thing coming to them. She knew what she had wanted. Reassurance. Safety. But now she wondered if making them worried over her like this was a wise choice. She didn't want to make them feel upset - just wanted a place to feel safe.
"Asul", she started, not knowing what to say. As he stood so close to them, Sirena did what she could only think to do. She stood and hugged him, "I'm sorry for making you worried. I came here because I felt.... Well, because I trust you both. I feel safe here." She stood back walked over and gave Ellie a hug as well, "Can I stay here a couple of days?"
SansaraNiraj: Asul huffed out a breath and wrapped his arms around the small human. "Sirena...It's alright. Heck, it's natural to be worried. It would be pretty weird if I didn't worry after you tell us something like this," he pulled back, keeping his hands on her shoulders as he stared down at her. "Don't be sorry for making us worry. You know you're more than welcome to come to us when anything comes up."
Camellia gingerly hugged her when it was her turn. "Of course you can, sweetie," Camellia smiled reassuringly at her. "We don't have anything for this week-"
Asul interrupted Camellia. "I have a customer in two days time."
Camellia rolled her eyes at him. "Yeah, through vid comm conference," she dismissed him and turned back to Sirena. "We should have fun these days, take our minds off things, hm?"
Sirena: Sirena smiled and jumped in excitement. "Yes!" And fell on the couch and hugged the pillow. "Yes, let's have fun. Stuff our face with cupca-" Sirena paused and frowned, burying her face in the pillow.
SansaraNiraj: "Huh?" Camellia quirked an eyebrow at Sirena's frown. Bringing an arm around her she asked, "What's wrong?"
Meanwhile, Asul finally sat down again on his previous spot, lightly patting Sirena's back.
Sirena: "That's what we did on our first date. Stuff our faces with cupcakes. And have a nice drink..."
SansaraNiraj: "Oh, Siri," Camellia hugged her tightly, squishing her friend and giving her shoulders a slight shake. "We'll stuff our faces with ice cream instead -Oh! Or we could get recipes of other pastries! I mean, my baking is nonexistent, but we could go shopping for supplies tomorrow morning," she grinned widely at the prospect trying to cheer up Sirena.
"I'll buy the stomach ache pills," Asul said in a monotone voice, confusing anyone whether he was being funny or not, as always.
Sirena: "I-I didn't get a stomach ache after Kolyat bought me my cupcakes!", Sirena peaked out of the pillow.
SansaraNiraj: "It was a joke," Asul replied, keeping his poker face.
Sirena: She pouted at Asul. "Why did he have to turn out to be a would-be murderer?", she sighed.
"Well, at least he didn't actually murder people, right?" Sirena started nervously laughing out loud. Even she didn't feel so comforted by it.
SansaraNiraj: "Hm, maybe the guy was confused?" Camellia wondered out loud. "I mean, I'm not saying it was right...But he just sounds like someone who hesitates. And I have no idea what his motives were but, this Kolyat doesn't seem like a sociopath...Still, it wasn't right to withhold that information from you, or even dare to ask you out on a date like that..."
Sirena: "I don't know. I've heard of people being able to fool everyone into thinking they are nice when they really are murderers and rapists. It doesn't seem much to be the case here, since he actually failed, but... he got away with just probation? That required pulling some strings. How did he do that? What's he hiding then? Only influential people could get out of that sort of problem so relatively easy." Sirena sighed, "And I also wonder if he did not go through with the assassination attempts because he was stopped by someone or because he stopped himself. He has not told me."
"So... for all I know... he could be a sociopath."
SansaraNiraj: "Hm, I can ask Sisel but I can't promise anything. Sometimes when they cut these deals it's really hard to find out what went on," Camellia tapped her chin in thought before glancing at Sirena again. "You won't know for sure unless you find out, but I wouldn't recommend talking with him right now. We should focus on relaxing these days."
"Right now?" Asul quirked an eyebrow. "How about you don't talk to him anymore. Period. Like you say, for all you know he could be a sociopath. Clearly not a Compact assassin. Even one who hasn't killed before is hard to catch in the act. Let's not mention the part where he 'attempted'. My bets are not on an assassin, an attempt in an assassin is more than likely to succeed-" he cut off, blocking the sudden memory and sitting back into the couch, avoiding the women's eyes. "...So yes...For all you know he could be...I'll make sure your omni-tool isn't being tracked, just in case."
Sirena: Sirena silently nodded. "You-you do have a point, Asul", she sighed. She buried her face back into the pillow, her words now sounding muffled, "What shall we do for the next two days?"
SansaraNiraj: Camellia plopped back against the couch, grabbing a cushion herself as she patted Sirena's back once more, this time during a little drumming motion with her fingers. "Be lazy, gossip, eat sweets until we get diabetes, play video games, and order Mr. McGrump around," she chuckled, winking an eye at Asul whom promptly rolled his eyes.
Sirena: "Do you have Pokemon in your omni-tool?", Sirena peered over the pillow.
SansaraNiraj: "Oh yeah!" Camellia grinned, opening her omni tool and searching through her game list, finally finding an old Pokemon game. "I haven't played in a while though. And playing with Asul for trades is hopeless," she stuck her tongue out at Asul.
The dark-red drell grumbled to himself before finally replying. "Pardon me if I find horror games more adventurous."
Sirena: "Some horror games are too horrifying for me.", Sirena frowned.
"I still can't get over that game with the stick man that wants to stop you from collecting paper."
SansaraNiraj: Asul chuckled out loud in clear amusement, his teeth bared as he laughed and his eyes scrunched up lightly at the action. "Ah yes, that one is quite fun."
Camellia kept a deadpan face before turning her gaze back to Sirena. "Ignore him he gets his kicks out of playing horror games-"
"And watching you play them is more fun," Asul interceded with a smirk plastered on his face, his previous grumpy state forgotten.
Camellia leered at Asul, hoping her got the message through that he was dead meat later.
Sirena: "But doesn't playing with friends make you feel less spooked?", Sirena tilted her head in wonder.
SansaraNiraj: "This idiot," Camellia pointed at Asul. "Literally fell to the floor laughing the first time we played Slender together."
"Lia, please, it was all in good fun," Asul chuckled lightly.
"You didn't even get scared, it wasn't fun!" Camellia pouted indignantly at Asul.
"Of course not, I was trained to not be scared," Asul scoffed.
Camellia merely leered her eyes and thought 'Challenge accepted'.
Sirena: And Sirena spent the most unproductive, yet most fun two days ever over at Ellie's and Asul's. The End!
