❝ they aren’t weak. ❝ the rebuttal comes back so quickly, the tone of her voice is as harsh as a knife on cloth, leaving jagged marks in its wake. there’s a sudden air of righteousness that wasn’t there before. or maybe, it’s not righteousness. it’s EXPERIENCE. in many ways, beau was still very much human. it wasn’t as if her assimilation of immortality or of a goddess’ consciousness and abilities would change that. there was nothing that could change the defects that came as a result of the absence of her mother, the lack of knowing her father. the emotions she was taught as a child to control and yet, she felt everything so deeply.
( it was one of the reasons why bastet had liked her in the first place. she felt things. it was a necessity in being a goddess of the family, but also a goddess of war and healing. she needed to be able to feel and know when to not. )

( her pupils dilated into feline slits, mildly extended claws. ) ❝ feeling emotion isn’t a weakness. it’s a strength. to know how to respond instead of just being cold and callous… being able to compromise and relate to another instead of being like a wall, incapable of understanding anything. emotions help us understand. ❞ her body slacks as she exhales a breath. her throat feels tight. she remembers having this conversation some years ago with her mother. ❝ emotions help us understand why we do things. why they do things. why they behave the way they do. I find it endearing. not a weakness. ❞
