CM Secret Santa Summary Post

if i've overlooked something, you haven't submitted your link, or you haven't received a gift (after checking this blog, your username tag and/or the cmsecretsanta tag), message this blog

1 santa dropped out, unable to complete their gift

2 santas didn't complete their gift and didn't respond to messages/get in contact, but their santees had backup santas with gifts for them

1 santa looked like they had disappeared, so a spare santa stepped in, only for the original santa to return!

1 santa went right into the naughty list for "gifting" reposted graphics/gifs

lists got mixed up and i thought a gift was missing - only to realise it wasn't, oops!

some beautiful and awesome gifts were made all around

thank you for participating, and making the event pretty smooth going!

maybe we'll do this again next year. or maybe we could have christmas in july?

A second gift has violated the rules of participation:

Do not steal other people’s work, this includes editing other people’s graphics or reposting images as part of your gift.

Their contribution was made up entirely of reposted (stolen) gifs/images. As there is absolutely no room for this to be human error - they actively sought out images they did not make to construct their frankengift - they have been removed from the event and not invited to rectify the situation.

It is also belatedly noted this person has been caught out reposting before - something I wish I had been more stringent about checking during sign-ups. I'm sorry to the people effected, but luckily I know there are lots of Christmas elves who have been making up for this unfortunate incident.

All of the gifts so far have been awesome, but unfortunately one has violated one of the rules of participation:

Do not steal other people’s work, this includes editing other people’s graphics or reposting images as part of your gift.

I'd like to reiterate that your gift must be 100% your work, and any resources (e.g. screencaps) used must be from a source that is offered freely to graphic makers (such as most of the LJ screencap groups, shecapsthat etc).

The gift in question will not be posted here, and hopefully the issue will be resolved quickly.

Info about posting gifts (25th-30th! not quite yet!)

you can post your gift any time between the 25th and 30th of december

we'll take account of your timezone - so don't worry if you see people posting things earlier/later than you

you can format and tag your gift however you like

you should post your gifts as a public post

if you've made something off-tumblr, create a post on tumblr linking to it so that can be archived on this blog.

don't post until the 25th!

when you post your gift, you'll need to send a link to the post on your blog to our submit page

all gifts will be reblogged here and archived, so nobody misses their gift and can see them all in one place

you may also send a message to your santee, informing them you've posted their gift if you wish :) (and/or tag it with their username so it shows up in their tracked tag)

you're free to reblog gifts others have made, but don't edit them or delete any information/commentary if you do
