Every time I have a bird-related experience I have to come and tell you (for obvious reasons) so I just come to say that I had a pigeon on my arm on the way back home the other day and I left her on a little nest I made with a box and leaves so she could sleep through the night in an area where there's tons of pigeons (so she could find them during the day). Anyways she was cute! And she ate the bread I gave her!

I'm sure you made her little pigeon day a lot brighter and that makes me ridiculously happy 🥰 Physically I am in my room but mentally I am hugging you hard ! You should try to get some bird seeds/dove seeds if feeding pigeons is something you do regularly, it's much more nutritive for them and will allow them to grow rounder and cuter :-)

Hiii! I've just got acnh and I was wondering if it's too difficult to find new "recipes" (are they called that? my game's in a dif language haha) for cool furniture and such? x

Hey there! 

It is not too hard to find new recipes in New Horizons, you get one every day from a bottle on the beach, one from a crafting villager, balloons drop them from time to time and you can even purchase some sets with Nookmiles and bells!

Also, ask around from friends who have been playing the game for longer then you, they might have some extra recipes laying around! Hope this helps ♥

I confess that I’m terrible when it comes to appreciating new music from artists I love — it usually takes me about two months to be able to appreciate it properly?? I love the ecstasy of Hunger, and The End of Love made me cry. I just keep getting stuck on Patricia and No Choir and the fact that I don’t like them.

do you have any recs for movies about loneliness, or something interesting like the handmaiden, or good lgbt movies? i need to watch something new 😳

And for films that deal with loneliness here’s what I’d recommend:

- Moon (literal loneliness in space, existential crisis also)

- Gravity (also literal loneliness in space, and loneliness after a loss)

- Cast away (literal loneliness on a uninhabited island)

- A single man (loneliness after the loss of a significant other)

- Into the wild (volontary loneliness, isolation)

- Magnolia (loneliness against terminal illness, loneliness from trauma-induced depression, loneliness from social isolation, loneliness from being abandonned, basically a movie that deals with difficult topics but is vey beautiful)

- Donnie Darko (that classic teen loneliness)

- Melancholia (main character suffers from depression, is surrounded by people but can’t connect with any of them)

- Her (loneliness in the modern world)

- I am legend (literal loneliness in a postapocalyptic setting)

mmh... not any more than pan’s labyrinth was ? it’s just the usual dramatic tension that makes you scared for the characters really, but there are some very gory scenes tho !! like one scene in particular almost made me hide my face in my hands it was gross !!!

You know when some movies start slow and then speed up through it all, keep speeding up so and so until you crash into a climax, and then it relents for some minutes to give the story an ending? I kinda missed that in The Stone Gods. I felt like it took my ages to read the last pages when all I wanted was to crash against that big climax that'd join all the pieces and would make the story close its circle. That's the flaw I saw. The rest's fantastic. The whole book's a poem. A fav for sure 👌

But I agree, I feel like the ending is very much a case of not with a bang, but with a whimper. I’d have liked a climax too, something that the frenzy of the last few chapters would lead to, but at the same time I think it might have been intentional? Taking account into how very microscopic the book makes you feel, simply someone caught up in the 65 million years of it all, the cycle of birth and rebirth, maybe Billie and Spike simply just slipping away to be reborn, the whimper of the dying earth was all part of Winterson’s intention.

I know you didn't directly rec it but you talked about the stone gods at some point here in tumblr and I started reading it like three days ago and I'm liking it so much, so thank you 👏♡

This made me so happy, I’m so glad you decided to go ahead and try it!! It really is a fantastic book, if a bit odd at times, and probably not to everyone’s taste, especially by the last of the stories — hopefully you still like it as much by the time you’ve finished x

60's, 80's or 90's fashion??

Oh that really all depends! I love the make up and hair from the 60′s — the eye liner and hairstyles, it always does seem to soft and elegant — high pony tails, dark and sultry cat eyes, very parisian (the clothing, however, not so much). 90′s grunge clothing formed a staple of my teen years — hell, even now somewhat — so I’ll have to say the 60′s for hair and makeup, 90′s for the clothing. The 80′s I would not even touch with a barge pole
