So, I'm Dutch (like born and raised here), though my father's side of the family is from Indonesia. However, being raised by my very Dutch mother, I've got to say: my mom has spared me some specific traditions, because she hates them as a Dutchie with a passion:
She spared me birthday parties that look like this or as we affectionately call it: ✨kring zitten✨
Also (this is what I heard from international students and stuff) we rely so much on 'Buienradar', which is basically a slightly inaccurate app that will tell you when it rains and when not. Therefore it will be the app that will tell me when we get to hang out or not and whether or not I'll be later or if I take the bus or grab my bike hehe
10. most enjoyable swear word in your native language?
I have 2
Klootzak, which basically means 'asshole' but it's better than asshole hahaha.
And
Kut. Kut is very diverse. It basically means cunt, however you can use 'kut' as an adjective. 'Kut wijf', 'kut kind' 'kut zooi' - it's very diverse and very well liked in my vocabulary hehe
Thank you for the asks, Saff 😘
ask me a “hi, I’m not from the US” question!
