At first, I knew I REALLY wanted to do a jukebox for this song, but I could not for the life of me figure out what to do it for. When I was about to give up and pick a new song, I had a moment where I went “wait. i can make this about time loops.” and this was born.

Drawing that hand was the bane of my existence, but I love how it turned out. I don’t work with perspective like that often, so I was honestly really nervous about it.

If you look at the eyes, it’s hard to see behind the glow and shine, but they are blue and red. Hi Sapphire :)

you're not supposed to be here. he freezes. his laugh is high-pitched and nervous. "um! ah- ah, um, n- nice voice, ruby! i didn't.. know you could do that..!" his expression is hidden as always, but somehow the smile on the mask looks more strained than usual. "do you want me to come back later? i was just checkin if i could borrow some quartz, i was thinkin itd look nice havin quartz stairs in the observatory--" ruby closes the gap between them. zir eyes are red and blue with a soft glow that shimmers under half-closed eyelids. he takes a step back, and he takes a step forward. you're not supposed to be here, sapphire repeats. she tilts her head with a sly smile. in all the previous tries... you were never here. so what changed? how did you get in this time? "i don't- i don't know what you mean," he squeaks. he takes a step back, and sapphire takes a step forward. he tries again and his back bumps into the ladder back up. he grips one of the rungs like a lifeline as everything in him screams this is bad. "it's not like you lock your door or anythi-" that's not what i mean. the amused tone drops. you have a way of getting into places you don't belong. maybe you should stay out of them. the expression on the mask switches from the faked smile to comedic fear. leontids trips over his words, starting and stopping, then spins and scrambles up the ladder like his life depends on it. the trap door slams shut. hm. sapphire sounds disappointed. maybe next time.

so back when i applied to Twitch SMP, i was kicking around ideas for what i would do on there. it turned into me coming up with potential interactions between Leontids and the other members of Aquarium Gravel, although the only one i wrote and started drawing a comic for was him meeting Sapphire-- who had opinions on his sudden arrival. seeing as i didn't get in, though, i felt awkward about it and quietly scrapped everything. but, hey, in another timeline Sapphire could've scared the daylights out of him!

we actually translated this a bit ago (thanks charm!) but i didn't make a post abt it bc it was late at night, and i just re-translated it for transcript purposes, so i'm pretty sure we have it correct seeing as we both got the same output.

You still don’t understand— he is like me and doesn’t even know. Hypocrite. i know all, what is yet to come. It will be fixed when i am done. You are of great use— these aren’t just dreams. It all is bigger than it seems. Look for him!

speaking of transcripts. im working on the one where sapphire talks to fiv and uh. this was in response to fiv saying "I'm not supposed to get angry." we find out in the stream after this that that's because when fiv's species gets angry, they go supernova.

did... are those the loops where fiv exploded?
