Once upon a fantasy au Ara had a selkie girlfriend !!  I still have a sweet spot for that particular little fantasy plot.  A fairly stereotypical selkie drama plot ; Ara had been approached by a ‘gentleman’ to steal a seal skin, Ara thought it was an odd request & stole it knowing no better, delivered it the ‘gentleman’ who soon enough had a mysterious young woman working for him practically over night. 

Ara developed a fixation on her & neither of them had realized what Ara had done.  & over a course of time Ara learned what she was & about what happens when a selkie’s skin is stolen & hidden from them.  The mysterious woman thought the man himself had stolen it from her & left Ara in a nasty predicament.  So, Ara, knowing exactly where fuck face mcgee had hidden that seal skin she’d stolen, left immediately & stole the seal skin back.  

Promptly delivering it to its rightful owner with no shortage of hysterical apologies.  There was a dramatic escape which followed & ends in the pair having a very melancholy on & off again long term relationship expanding over a few decades.  With Ara’s lover always vanishing back into the waters & Ara patiently visiting the shore each evening with the hope to see those lovely brown eyes again.

             “ I hope we have ourselves a deal.   otherwise y’ gonna be in some deep shit. ”
