“Where do I even start, dude. You’re wicked sharp and observant, you always seem to have about five different answers to any one given situation that needs solving. You’re hard-working to the point that I honestly feel you should be taking things WAY easier than everyone else, but I also admire that you wouldn’t settle for anything less than a challenge that would really push your own limits. There’s just… I dunno, somethin’ special about you. It’s hard to explain, but it’s like when I listen to you talk and you’re getting really passionate, I’m just hooked. You’ve got conviction and whatever you believe in, I feel like you can actually make it happen, y’know? I just know that whatever you’re seeing on the horizon must be great and I wanna help you get there every step of the way.”
“My dad always talks about how the most influential people out there are the ones who not only set an example with their actions, but inspire others to act as well… And I just know that whatever you choose to do in life, you’re gonna surpass whatever limitations people would normally be fine with stopping at. I can’t help being excited about what you’re gonna accomplish in the future, because I know it’ll be amazing. I just think I’m super lucky to be one of the people along for the ride, is all.”
i noticed that when I write about writers, I usually put their actions in the present tense: Owen writes, Sassoon observes, Brooks notes. In a way, they live on because their actions continue into the present
