A basic rundown of the cats -- so they do all have names, but I'm the kind of nerd where it'll give away who I am immediately if I tell you their names. Like, everyone finds out their names and go "OF FUCKING COURSE". But they all have at least two parts to their names, I'll see how I can do this:

My baby boy. He's the oldest, I rescued him in late 2020. He's a tabby that looks kind of like a squirrel, and he's massive. His head is bigger than my fist. He is unaware of how big he is (that or he doesn't care. He demands to be treated as a baby)

My baby's baby. The next cat we got. Also a tabby, but with a darker swirly pattern. He's like Batman; he is the shadows and the night. And he's scared of everything. We rescued him as a kitten in late 2024

My pretty princess. She's a short-hair tortoiseshell and chaos incarnate. She's also so sweet and has little werewolf eyes. we sort of helped rescue her in early 2025? her acquisition was more complicated

My stinky son. He's a gray tabby and a massive sweetheart. He also annoys all of his siblings. He was born this past February! He has so much energy but he's such a good boy.

My gorgeous little duchess. She's the one I told you about; my little dustbunny and my tiny mold spore etc etc etc. She's perfect and I love her.

meh, it's fine... we're figuring out ways around it (I have so many icepacks. Ice is wonderful. I also keep pouring water directly over my head. Yippee!) But yeah... look, it's just the time of the year that kind of sucks, it's all fine.

YES!! I really just lucked out, I hope you're able to find some! It really is healing. But still, having a group is really good, it's better than being completely alone.

And. Yes. My baby boy agrees. To the point of being an absolute brat. (I really don't hold it against him, he's my specialest little boy)

i'm giggling. imagine you're in witness protection program and the thing that blows your cover is your five cats. i'm so jealous of you. i want five cats too! my family have only had one cat at a time. right now, my boy Matthew is 8 years old. he's my little old man. he caught many rats for us. he's such a good boy but also very territorial.

once, a heavily pregnant cat took shelter in our garden (AN HONOUR) but Matthew didn't like her in his terf. she was just trying to rest and he BAP BAP BAP her until i took her away and back to her owner. Matthew is not a feminist.

Quarik loves them too. he's very egotistic! good news is the DM made it so much easier to farm for inspiration points. and i'm saving enough to just make him taller. he's 120 centimeters tall, which is the actual height of bearded vultures in real life. but in my initial design, he towers over most Medium sized creatures. DM.... when i get you, DM....

this is for 🐊 anon! my Aarakroca Bird-barian - Quarik the Voracious. Quarik is like.... my third time drawing a bird ever so he's not as scary/intimidating as i want.

unfortunately! he won't get to be scary for the time being. when we were going round the table, introducing our characters, the DM just struck me with terrible news that Aarakroca's in this campaign is size SMALL. so Quarik, my big, tough, beefy unit of a ring fighter, got nerfed to goblin size. he's like thirty years old in human age and he keeps having to fly or stands on top of tables to talk eye to eye with people.

I won't lie, it's pretty funny to me too. Yesyes I like beating people up. also this is my dear friend on Tumblr ignore that we're just writing letters like we're in a war or something between hornyposts it's normal. You're all good! I ended up getting distracted (testosterone has me so goddamn hot, I made an emergency ice pack get warm in... not even ten minutes, and it's so hot here right now. I'm just suffering. I'm figuring something out, one of my professors has been super helpful. It's deeply funny to run to his office and be like "HEYYYY. I'm here not as a student and someone that works for you but as a younger queer asking an older queer for advice" because we're both good at separating the two and GOD knows i need his advice).

So far it is! I'd love to foster, but... my baby boy might actually kill me in my sleep. We have five cats right now, we rescued three and adopted the youngest two. My baby is just a very jealous creature because he was the only cat for three or so years... he's working through it)

OH THAT'S SO COOL!! I hope your film goes well!!!! And that you have fun with it -- multimedia studies sounds so cool, oh my lord. But yeah, I feel that 'learn a trade' thing so hard... man, it's bad out there, but I definitely think that studying something you enjoy like that is important. It heals you a little bit.

Yes! But GOD, I feel that... I don't think I've gotten to really read much of anything just for fun in years, save for Sanator and a horror novel I've been very incredibly slowly making my way through. Man. Reading is hard, and takes so much time.

GOD. YEAH. I love combat in games... I would not say I'm good at it, though. My grandpa and I used to play games together because we would both struggle and get frustrated, so we'd be passing the controller between each other! But YES, I love seeing characters and getting to build relationships with them! VtM:B being fully voice acted just makes it even funnier, GOD, I'M SO SORRY. I used to do lighting in film+theatre so I'm also very opinionated on Please Light Things Well For God's Sake, but jesus christ

FUCK YES! I hope you have fun at DND!!! Keep me posted on how it goes, I LOVE hearing stories about what happens in DND campaigns. One of my best friends used to play a character named "Just George" who collected severed hands, and I LOVED the adventures of Just George

i've been reading a book based on Nordic myths and it's so good but it's been literal months. i don't know how people can read through 10 or more books a month like damn. i hear them talk about reading slumps and i'm like "that.... that's just how i read normally." i feel like i'm not being "productive" when i read? it's something i'm working on, slowly.

yessssss. i'm all for "do whatever the fuck you like, be creative without having to put meaning to your work" but it gets me so good when art is intentional. and you can understand what someone's trying to communicate through their medium. it makes me hard when someone knows their crafts.

Just George is gold. i love regular names on fantasy characters. my favourite of all time is Justin Case, may or may not be related to Justin Time.

GOOD. I'll warn I've been pretty scattered these past few days, but I'll try to hit everything!

It's been... a work in progress, she's still so small that she gets nervous when they want to play, but she's getting there! And she seems to really like my baby boy (the first cat we had; I rescued him when he was a kitten and he's been absurdly attached to me ever since), and she's the first cat he's tolerated as quickly as he has been -- he gets jealous really easily and it takes him a while to warm up to other cats, but he took to her really quickly at first! Then some stuff happened that made both of them nervous, but they're getting back to that level they were at before and starting to get along better. (Neither of them are at fault for their issues; another cat we have stressed both of them out really badly, and we weren't able to stop the situation in time, so they got scared of each other. They're good again, for the most part, though!)

UGH, god, I understand that. It's cool that you do that for class, though! What do you study? I do literature and research, kind of against my will, but it's an alright time.

GOD YES, one of my favorite professors of all time has said similar about Yakuza 0. He had the same criticism though... but I'm willing to still give it a chance. I just haven't had much time to play as much as I'd like, between work and classes (I... am basically an even more underpaid teacher's assistant, which is funny because teacher's assistants are already underpaid. But at least I get to work with a really cool professor, and she helps look out for me?) ANYWAYS. I'm trying to think of other games I know of that are good, but absolutely blanking... my younger brother and I have been reading/playing a visual novel called Sanator: Scarlet Scarf, and it's cool (though we wish it was a lot longer, haha)

EUGH I UNDERSTAND. I have the same problem with Devil May Cry. I LOVE DMC, but... god. There's a specific fight that has me struggling hard. Oh well. I love games that use a DND style for characters like that! Honestly, sometimes the appeal of a game should be the story, it's just nice when gameplay matches... ehhh, it's fine. I'm definitely gonna look for the TTRPG book, though, that sounds so cool. Sorry, I laughed out loud about you not being able to see the guy in front of you dying... that seems like a significant thing they'd want you to see in the game. Man. I'm glad you're enjoying it!!

i'm in college for multimedia. we're doing a film project for this semester! i'm so so SO privileged because i get to study what i want. but HOLY SHIT the industry is burning right in front of my eyes. i'm considering learning a trade the moment i get out of here.

Sanator: Red Scarf looks really cool! i want to play more visual novel but they're just reading books to me and i really struggle with reading these past few years. i can't believe i used to read ten books in a month when i was in high school.

i guess you can call it skills issues. lol. i've never been good at combat. whether it's video games or TTRPG. i'm bad at keeping numbers and paying attention to stats. i'm just here for the whims and roll to seduce man. oh yeah, VtM:B is fully voice acted. so the guy just coughing and hacking away while i'm squinting at my monitor. like that one grandma stock image. also, DnD is on this week. yippee!

Hey, it's been a while! It's been hectic here, but not bad. Just busy. I'm so sorry about DND getting cancelled again! Making friends is really hard, yeah... especially when the people you try to talk to just. Do not. I dunno, people are weird.

i'm doing okay! just fighting writer's block and i'm losing hard. it's a struggle when i also have to be creative academically. i have a ton of drafts that i open and just stare at them till the day ends.

for video games, i have to say Yakuza 0. it's SO GOOD. great graphics, great story and characters. and the soundtrack is insane. i sing Yakuza songs in every single one of my karaoke sesh. the only down side is it was created by old most-likely-conservative men. so a very minor part of the game is done in poor taste. but it didn't really affect the gameplay for me since those parts are pretty much optional unless you wanna be a completionist.

i can't really recommend VtM because i'm still stuck at a fight in VtM: Bloodlines (the first game of the series iirc) and i haven't to got halfway through the plot yet. it's still really fun though. i actually enjoy the mechanic and world building more than gameplay. for me, it's similar to DnD in terms of characters potential. there is an upcoming book for Vampire the Masquerade TTRPG if you want to look into that. if you still want to play the Bloodlines game i would advise you to play the remastered version. the original 2004 release has really, really bad environment lighting. like there was a dude dying in front of me in one of the cut scenes and i just couldn't tell what was going on. the combat is pretty clunky too... i power through because i'm a sucker for any vamp media. good thing is VtM has lots of content. the aforementioned TTRPG, a few visual novels and a whole extended universe with Werewolves and Mages and all. it's overwhelming for me personally but you're bound to run into something you like!
