Sapnap, personally, does not see what the big deal is. It's just a cut in the fat and muscle near one of his lungs. It did not puncture his lung, it didn't even get close to that, and the imperial doctors already treated his injury.
Besides, he's had worse, but Dream had told him in no uncertain terms that was not a good argument for getting out of mandatory rest. Imperial orders and whatnot, because Dream is currently underworld-bent on being an asshole.
Which is why Sapnap is trying to fall asleep on him and hopefully drool through his stupid fancy emperor robes in revenge for being confined to the imperial quarters.

Instantly, Dream's mind is racing with every possible horrible awful thing that could have happened to Sapnap, could've happened to a smaller creature with softer scales and brighter markings, a beacon in the dark ocean waters for any kind of predator out here, especially when he's all alone and not as strong or big as Dream is. He could've been surrounded by orcas, or hunted down by a shark, or pinned and tormented by dolphins or forced to try and defend himself against a group of smaller fish or, tides forbid, a bigger mer.
Or a human, Dream's brain supplies, which gives him a horrible, awful sense of dread about what might have happened to his sweet and fragile boyfriend out here.
"George," He croaks, reaching out to gently pull George into his hands and stare down at him, feeling horribly, horribly terrified at the same time. "George, what if he ran into humans out here?"

Humans are rare in space. Their planet (entire system, in fact) is a protected 'no galactic citizens allowed' zone, partially because humans are incredibly dangerous in large packs, according to Farfa and Shadoune, but also because humans do a very bad job at surviving in deep space, which Sapnap did not need to be told about because, well, he knows.
It seems that Team Mafia sometimes misunderstands that fact as 'Sapnap is incredibly fragile', instead of the more obvious 'I can't leave this ship unlike half of you otherwise I will actually die', which is the true statement, and is also what lead to this situation.
Shadoune responds into his translator a moment later. "It's cold in here, you need to stay warm."
Sapnap sighs again. The coolant systems on the ship are broken, which means they've been spitting out cold air at an alarming rate. Sapnap shouldn't need to worry about this, mostly because it's not that cold, really, and he can handle being a bit chilly until they reach the next port and get it fixed.
