Multiple grocery bags in tow, Maia headed for Sara’s apartment. It wasn’t that she thought the single mother couldn’t afford groceries, or that she wasn’t capable of making a Chet’s run. It’s just that she couldn’t even imagine how much her friend had on her plate right now and if Maia could take just one task off her to do list, she was more than happy to do so. Being a single mom to a newborn was a huge responsibility and to top it all off, Sara was new in town. Meaning besides her brother, Sara didn’t have much in the way of a support system. Maia wanted her to know she wasn’t in this all alone.
She stood at Sara’s door, debating whether or not to go through the hassle of setting the bags of groceries in her right hand down so she could knock on the door, but then having to pick them all up again. Eventually, she decided on just knocking on the door... with her foot. Maia was 100% that person who refused to make more than one trip when carrying her groceries from the car to her kitchen. When the door finally opened, she raised her arms, well tried to, they were starting to get heavy now, and smiled. “Your friendly neighborhood, grocery delivery girl, at your service!”
