Yall. The devastation of these fires is just so terrible. So many of my friends, coworkers, and family have been evacuated. Fire literally coming right up to their houses and by the grace of God their houses were spared. Unfortunately thousands more were not as lucky.
I am slowly hearing of people I know who have lost everything.
Of people who had no insurance as they were dropped from their insurance as the companies are pulling out from california because they don't want to pay to replace everything that is lost in the damage. Many more being sent notices that they are getting dropped as these fires rage on.
The devastation in my community as most of us are without power. And SoCal Edison only offering a measly 25 dollar voucher to replace the hundreds of dollars worth of food in our refrigerators. Extending the days when they say they will restore our power.
Firefighters tirelessly working to put out these uncontrollable flames. With fire hydrants that have run out of water. Not enough equipment or fire engines for the firefighters to take out to help battle the never ending fires.
Government officials mismanaging funds. Emptying water reservoirs and cutting funding towards the fire department. Refusing to answer questions or be held accountable for their mistakes.
Hospitals without power. Staff unable to get home. Closed for disaster forcing the ambulances to bring patients anywhere else.
I have seen many disasters. But I have never seen any as terrible as this.
