Thirteenth Doctor and Mary Seacole
Love the fact Mary trusts the Doctor.
Who was Mary Seacole? What Doctor Who got right about the real-life historical figure featured in "War of the Sontarans."
Doctor Who: Flux Episode 2, “War of the Sontarans,” features Mary Seacole (Sara Powell), Britain’s first Black nurse, in the middle of a Sontaran invasion of Earth in 1855. Aliens meddling in human history is a classic Doctor Who trope, and the long-running series often grounds the sci-fi adventure in real-life history. So what was factual about Seacole’s role in the Crimean War and what was fiction from the mind of Chris Chibnall? Read on to find out…

CONFESSION:
I see a lot of people like to trash Mother Giselle's voice actor but I can't do it. And I've seen a lot of on and off trashing lately. Sara Powell is a prolific actress. She's not only done telelvision but she has done films and theater. Dragon Age Inquisition was her very first experience at voicing a character for a game. Maybe she was not flawless but I have heard a lot worse. And there have been a lot worse. And when I first played the game before even looking her up, my Jamaican born grandmother was watching me and when she heard Mother Giselle during the scene with Dorian and she insisted she heard a hint of a Jamaican accent. And sure enough she was right when I looked her up. I was like...."Damn! Granna knew and I didn't." So thats another reason why I refuse to trash her. Sorry. I refuse to get on the hate train for this.
