Created, written by and starring Mark Gatiss, alongside Polly Walker, Bookish follows the appropriately named Gabriel Book, who owns a bookshop in London in 1946. If his War was packed with espionage and secrets, Book's Peace is just as full of adventure. Now, he helps the police solve the strangest of crimes and the knottiest of murders.

For one day only, the doors will open to a bookshop unlike any other. Browse the shelves, uncover hidden surprises and meet the bookshop’s mysterious keeper before sitting down with one of our resident Cover Story writers.

Armed with a typewriter, they’ll create the opening page of your own fictional identity - complete with bespoke alter ego, occupation and backstory convincing enough to fool almost anyone.

Whether you’re a fan of Bookish, love a good mystery or simply fancy experiencing something a little different, Your Book's Bookshop is your invitation to step into a world of hidden lives, secret identities and perfectly constructed alibis.

Please note that personalised cover stories are subject to availability. While we will do our best to accommodate every ticket holder at The Book’s Bookshop, we cannot guarantee that everyone will receive a personalised cover story.

This is a free event, but spaces are limited, so booking is essential.
