Sarah did a wonderful job creating All in Time... It’s a great piece and commanded my full attention also. She makes two great points, Science Fiction and Fact do overlap and our perception of time does change with age (and through events). The soundscape is a compelling audio experience that is like a picture book for our ears and mind. So she did accomplish what she set out to do.
It's not music concrete nor computer generated blip blop. All in Time resonates authenticity and it’s inclusive. We get a fun journey with shared observation and experience that doesn’t preach. Like a writer who's a great wordsmith and pulls us into a story, Sarah does the same with sound, which is a great way to tackle a subject like time.

Not sure I was sold on this one at first, but halfway through I was hooked. Great piece, glad I got a chance to play it last week. The 20x20x20 universe -->grain of sand visual might just melt your brain.
Playlist for Thursday 1/12/11
Very fun, very loose show last week. Hadn't planned on it, but I ended up doing a pretty big chunk of MLK-day themed programming during the first hour. Sam Cooke, JB, Gil Scott-Heron and a bunch of other great artists. Nina Simone and John Coltrane doing protest music, MLK speech clips, all on the fly, I had a good time. Took it a little disco (by request) later on in the set with "Rock Creek Park", a great tune that I'll def be adding to the pitch repertoire. Got a little spoken word/musique concrete experimental with Sarah Boothroyd's "Plato's Cave" a track I found in the latest issue of Diagram. Good stuff, damn chilling toward the end. Anytime I cap a set with a penultimate play of Q Lazzarus you know I was having a good time.
