Not a chance. Initial signs of potential never grew into anything solid.

Thoughts:

My sincere opinion is that Sarah was going to be the first boot, but they saw potential for good television in her weird experimentations with Kim, so they extended her stay to a couple more episodes. Although her first shot was pretty decent and showed great potential, she immediately declined and ended her run with the worst photo of the cycle (and one of the worst in Top Model history). Moreover, her walk was atrocious. You’d think she had two left feet in the awkward way she would fumble down the catwalk. She was severely lacking in the confidence department, which played in a part in her decaying portfolio, and I never got a sense of Sarah as a person, apart from the fact that she had a “thing” with Kim. If the only memorable action is dependent on another contestant, then it’s a sign they’re not going to last long.

[Before I even begin to rank the photos this from this week, I just want to say quickly that I won’t go into as much detail about these shots like I’ve done with previous rankings since I’m sure you can understand that it’s hard for me (or anyone ranking on Tumblr really) to take this shoot seriously in any way. I’m all for creative ideas, but this is so ludicrous and the only thing I could praise without hesitation is Miss Jay giving Elphaba a run for her Wicked Witch of the West money.]

Ouch. Doubtless to say, this will be making an appearance in the Bottom 10 because even with the ridiculous brief, Sarah looks god awful here. She looks like a paper doll that just got squished down and is all bendy in the wrong places. Her face is terrible and lowkey reminds me of a party girl who’s dazed after sniffing a couple lines. Nothing works, and she is so limp and lifeless. Even though this shoot was a disservice to all, Sarah was the weakest left by far, so she’s another elimination I agree with.

9. Sarah

I complimented Sarah on showing potential last week, but I’ll have to eat my words as the competition progresses. This was her best photo in her portfolio and even then it isn’t that good. Her head is way too far back, giving us a clear view into her nostrils. Apart from giving us a pig-nose and weird lips, I can appreciate the confidence she is portraying, even though I can tell she’s trying too hard to come across as unbothered. She is giving a solid amount of neck, so that’s good. However, I am distracted by the way she placed her arms holding the reins- she looks like she’s about to break out into a dance, and I would have loved to see her exaggerate and push out the hip a bit more for a better curve with the dress. Since Sarah’s standing with her legs so close together, the dress doesn’t look as good as it could because the fabric isn’t being stretched enough to bring a more flattering shape. Also her exposed foot really bothers me, but that’s just a personal tick of mine so I’m not taking it into account when ranking her.

8. Sarah

This isn’t the best photo by any means, but I think it does the best thing a shot could do at this point in the competition, which is show potential. I actually like the smirk on Sarah’s face, since it works with her eyes to look a bit mysterious and alluring, like she’s got a secret to hide from the camera (honestly quite on brand with the brief, since superheroes have secret identities to keep from the public). What keeps me from ranking this any higher is her body. It’s almost there, but falls short because of the way she bent her legs, which has not only shortened her significantly, but messed with her proportions to enlarge her waist. I’ll admit that’s partially also because the corset isn’t doing her any favours, but it was ultimately her job to work through it. Perhaps if she had bent only one knee and lengthened the other leg, and also added some extra tension to the arms, this could have looked like a graceful figure soaring through the skies whilst patrolling the city for any evil-doers.

The only reason Sarah ranked above Ashley is because of her country shot. That shot showed what Sarah could have been, a gorgeous Ralph Lauren-esque model. Sadly, she was super awkward, both with her body and with her face. Although I suspect that Sarah would probably have done better in more natural shoots, her work can only bring her up so far. Also, her walk was awful. Her little fling with Kim is probably the only reason the judges kept her over Ashley but at least she managed to produce one really strong shot.

I have no idea how this even works but Sarah has both neck and no neck. She looks super uncomfortable and like she’s hunching inward. Her arms are lazy, her motion is abysmal and she just looks so awkward overall. While this shoot was super gimmicky, Sarah was the worst by a mile and so I’m not even mad she went home.

6. Sarah

This is easily the best shot Sarah produced and I’m here for it. I love that she went just a little bit over the top. The throwback of the hair makes her look a bit like a Ralph Lauren girl and her jaw is strong and I like the way her shoulders look. Her eyes connect and the dress, of course, looks gorgeous. Her lips may be a tiny bit too pursed but it’s such a minor thing. Overall, a really strong photo.

Another photos that was critiqued a bit too harshly. Sarah looks compact, yes. However, her face looks a bit mischievous and I like how she extended her arms. There’s some superhero aspect to it. In addition, she has a good awareness of the slight here. However, that body can’t be ignored and brings down what could have been a somewhat strong photo into mediocre. I do admit that her runway spills made her bottom 2 appearance justified but I’m glad she stuck around since her photo was better than Ashley’s.
