My answers:
1. What book would you save in a fire? I'm tempted to say Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury just for the irony really...
2. Can you reread books? Yes! If I really like a book or series I'll re-read it, but I have to leave at least a year's gap to get the same enjoyment out of it.
3. Who is your favorite author, and why? This is so hard! I would say J.K. Rowling, purely because I am absolutely in love with the Harry Potter series, it's the set of books I've read the most and I will never get tired of reading them.
4. What book will you never read? I can safely say I will never read 50 Shades of Grey or the other books in that series. I've heard there are spelling mistakes in it... enough said for me really.
5. You have to choose between your two favorite authors. Who are they, and how do you choose? (I'm excluding J.K. Rowling from this) It would be between George Orwell and F. Scott Fitzgerald. I choose... Fitzgerald because I prefer to read a bit of word-magic and something beautiful rather than Orwell's plainer language.
6. What is the longest period it has taken you to read a book? About 4-5 weeks; it was The Good Soldier by Ford Madox Ford and that was probably the most painstakingly boring 4-5 weeks of my life.
7. What was your favorite book that you read in school? Hmmm... it's a close call between Animal Farm by George Orwell and The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, but I think Gatsby wins on that one.
8. What genre do you tend to read? I don't really have a specific genre that I stick to, but at the moment I'm reading a lot of Classics so I guess I'd say that? I like YA fiction though, easy-read books are good.
9. Where do you read books? (in your room with the music on, on a lawn chair in the sun, in a lion’s cage…) Anywhere there's a chair really, mainly curled up on the sofa or in bed.
10. Library or book store? Why? Book store, I prefer the feeling of getting a book and owning it forever rather than forgetting to return it and paying a £10 fine. ________________________________
My Questions:
1. If you had to marry a book character, who would it be and why?
2. Real book or e-reader?
3. What is the most misleading book title you've ever come across?
4. You're going to be stuck on a desert island. What 3 books would you take with you?
5. Is there an author you think is underrated?
6. What about an overrated one?
7. Do you have a favourite genre/writing period? (E.g. Gothic, post-Modern, romance etc.)
8. Which author would you bring back from the dead if you could? Why?
9. Would you like it if your favourite book was adapted into a film?
10. Do you tend to read more books by male authors or female authors?
