5th K-pop Academy Week 11: K-art at The British Museum

     The 11th week at the 5th K-pop Academy was the last class of K-pop Academy. We went to The British Museum in order to see the Korean Exhibition.

     First, we stopped at the main attraction, a reconstruction of a Sarangbang or Scholar's Study Room that was used mainly by men for writing poetry and leisure activities. It also has a separate study room, called Sarangchae which was forbidden for women to enter.

The traditional houses, Hanok, have an underfloor heating system called Ondol which transfers heat from wood smoke to the underside of a thick masonry floor during winter time. Cheoma is the edge of Hanok's curvy roofs. The lengths of the Cheoma can be adjusted to control the amount of sunlight that enters the house.

    Then, we stopped in front of the Ceramics and Ornaments that were dating back from Joseon and Silla periods.
