The Ship of Theseus was a ship that have several parts replaced for years before only a small part of the remained. The question is then proposed of is this still the same ship of Theseus that existed before.
When Goemon read this quandary, he couldn’t help feel a painful jab in his heart. Looking down at his own clothes. Only is hakama and sword remained. His geta broke so he replaced them with slippers. And he had to sell his Kimono so he simply found the largest shirt he could find for the most mobility and used that. A thick serape draped over his shoulders, a gift from a beautiful woman, who’s village he saved.
He sat back and looked at his current companion. A man native to the contenent who had also dressed differently from his people, to mingle with the white man more if only to trade. But he was still very much from his people, and proudly so. Goemon smiled at realizing this, realized that despite his change in appearence, he was still a samurai. At his core.
Goemon from my cowboy au now apparently. I like to think he travelled to the states to bypass the “No Swords” law that was passed in Japan. He slowly picks up more and more things in his travels. Preferring to stay out of major communities and sticking to non white groups cause they don’t cause him as much trouble. There is a lot of staring though. Unfortunately.

I’m incredibly happy with how this tattoo came out. For those who don’t know, I’ve had terrible anxiety and depression my whole life. Something that centers me and brings me back to reality is wrapping myself in a blanket. Now when I look at this, I can remind myself that no matter how debilitating they may feel, my panic attacks and depressive episodes are temporary and they’ll pass. Thank you @randyconnertattoo for encapsulating exactly what I wanted 🤙🏼 #tattoo #art #tattooart #vibrant #blanket #sarape #mexican #mentalhealth #gay (at Scapegoat Tattoo) https://www.instagram.com/p/B7UWka7BBsW/?igshid=17e1nirkdey3a
