HEY GUYS!! Soooo...I entered a Sari re-design contest that urges the up-cycling and re-use of old Saris from India. The cool thing is, it's funded/granted by the Council of Arts at MIT and the brand lalitara.
Lalitara works with Sari pickers in India, trying to raise their income (from ragpicking) and support a fair living wage. The Saris are up-cycled and re used to not only make pretty things, but also raise awareness about this marginalized community. To learn more go here.
It's also a good cause because not only are you helping women in India raise their income level, but you will also be helping ME raise my income level. I am poor, and fabrics are hella expensive. Help a sister out and "like" my submission from this link.
