SARVNAZ is centralized around the idea of cultural purgatory, the constant state of being neither here nor there. This state is brought on by being raised within two cultures simultaneously. Within their work, SARVNAZ touches upon topics that were taboo growing up as an Iranian American, such as depression, sex, and drug use. . . .
