so Star Trek right

but the thing about the trailers right is that they're cut so cleverly

like people thought that the hands on the glass were Spock and Kirk, but then from the rest of the trailers other people assumed it was Spock and Benedict (who was so well hidden as Khan I absolutely cannot believe it stayed a secret for so long)

but then it turned out to be Spock and Kirk anyway because Kirk changed into the same shirt as Khan I absolutely cannot

I was so jazzed by the return of LN!Spock but then also really concerned because by that time we'd been told that Khan was Khan and of course LN!Spock knows that he had to die in order to protect Kirk in that scenario

so how was he possibly going to tell ZQ!Spock that he needed to die???!?!

but then it turned out he was all cryptic about it and ZQ!Spock didn't even die I swear I was waiting the entire time for ZQ!Spock to go down and save Kirk before he jumped in but fucking Kirk got into the core of course and fixed it himself because he's magnificent

and then

the hands on the glass

and the friend line (heart palpitations)

and Kirk returning the Vulcan salute

I cried like a little bitch

also guess who didn't watch The Wrath of Khan before this movie (and had never actually seen it before) but just now watched Spock's death and realised how exactly the same the setup was with Bones and Scotty and the running through the Enterprise except that time it was Spock behind the glass but it still broke me

probably should have given myself some time before I emotionally crushed myself with more instances of the space husbands dying huh

the rest of the movie was really good too yeah but the death scene I just the death scene

I'm so excited to see this more than one with other friends omfg
