Natsume rolled over under her covers that following morning, knowing her alarm would be sounding in a few moments. Not that it mattered, she was already wide awake anyway, and had been for over an hour. The events of the previous evening kept running through her mind, and to be honest, she had no idea what she was going to do. Sasayan's admission to liking her had caught her totally off-guard.
She had had lots of guys like her, sure. But never one with whom she was... well, friends. Good friends, for that matter. The concept confused her so much that she felt like burying herself under the covers once more. As she went through her morning routine, his statement of 'Even if it was me, I never would've held hands with you if I didn't like you!' rang through her head. And why was he so casual about it, anyway? No other guy would be. But then again, Sasayan was certainly... different. Natsume sighed in frustration as her one-track train of thought continued.
Finally, she left for school, and as soon as she did she began to feel unreasonably paranoid. What if she ran into him on her way to school? What if she didn't see him until she got there? What was she supposed to say when she saw him, anyway...? This entire situation, to her surprise, made her almost angry. Although... she understood that liking someone couldn't be helped, after her own experiences. 'But still...! How did this happen?!'
She continued to walk along, not paying attention to her surroundings, until she suddenly ran face-first into somebody's backpack.
