“huh? oh, uh, i didn’t know that movie already came out - so, um, no, i haven’t seen it,” he answered, obviously distracted. he wasn’t usually this terrible at small talk, but he’d just caught sight of saskia across the room and it was getting more difficult to concentrate on the conversation because obviously he’d rather be talking to her. “is it any good?” he asked absentmindedly, still attempting to be polite despite his head being elsewhere. he didn’t even hear the answer. “i’m sorry, i just - i’ll be back in a minute, okay?” he told them, before making his way through the crowded party to get to where she was. 

“hey,” he said, placing his hand softly on her arm to get her attention. “hi,” he said, a smile spreading across his lips once he had it. “i was hoping i’d see you here.” he had been on the fence about going in the first place, given the fact that parties were apparently something to avoid these days. at least seojun seemed to think so, considering they still had no idea what actually happened to manon. but they collectively had to move on and act normal to avoid raising any suspicions, and acting normal meant going to parties. “wanna take a walk?” he asked, feeling a little claustrophobic with all the people surrounding them - or maybe he just wanted her full attention for a moment.
