The thing that stares back isn't yourself
While looking at someone's timeline on facebook I noticed all photos had selfies, the its me image and this is what I'm doing. The self centred photo diary of a me person, the same pout but in a slightly different location, camera slightly above, lips pointing and there are those that are lucky enough to be allowed in my presence. You could travel the world twice and all images are based around me, the arrogance that the world revolves around me, just fucking me world and so many buy into other me world's allowing the reciprocating me syndrome to multiply and spread. Does the presence of that fucking pout suggest that the location is now validated as being worthy by your slightly upturned heads or is it the other way in that by being in such a location you have gained like monopoly extra points for passing go with your moronic fucking stare, either way the answer leaves me speechless. Those that then pose in front of some housewife in the Louvre and prove their prowess by posting it on social media do they actually look at the painting, do they understand, do they fuck. We now have people running alongside tour de France riders not because they give a toss about cycling but its on the list of things to do. Mona lisa, tdf and Eiffel tower because its France and nothing else before moving onto the next list. Photography is becoming like this with so many lists to complete, and so little to bother learning when auto shite function can take the strain. How long before the camera has WiFi and you leave it at home and auto selfie onto backgrounds powered by your phones GPS with random landscapes are provided, fuck it don't even leave home and plan a trip check the photos and decide if its worth going. Imagine going on holiday to come back to find somebody had better selfies!, better landscapes. Some freaky people out there are doing shit with cameras that's actually very different, sometimes it's OK, sometimes it's crap and sometimes its awesome. Other people are doing stuff that they enjoy and its good, not mind blowing but worth doing for their own sanity if nothing else, and its obvious they care about individuality. So here is my number one rule about photography. #1 turn the fucking camera away from your self centred pouting fucking face and understand what is around you.
