On the banks of the Chenab river (this is also a theme). He is forbidden from marrying her and renounces worldy possestions as a result (this us how he ends up a cowherd) (so many themes). She is forced into a marriage but runs away. They both die because they jump into the river. They DO together while they are alive because Sohni has been sneaking over to meet Mahiwal for a while. This is revolutionary.
Mirza-Sahiba: jatt romance. Sial clan girl (hey sial clan whats up with that, anyway?). For once the boy is NOT a cowherd at any point but he IS from a rival clan. They run away together, get caught by her brothers, and she fucking sabotages him to save them. They both get die as a result of "her betrayal". This is the only one that explicitly ends "sadly" because all the other deaths are them joining in death meanwhile Sahiba kinds sorta got her man killed. Oh and also. On the banks of the Chenab river.
TLDR? um. If you live anywhere on the Chenab maybe dont fall in love. The track record is kind of terrible. Also i really hope the sial clan has had a femenist revolution recently because why do you hsve mutliple tragic heroines hello?
