Writing Sassy and Witty characters.

They are creative and very intelligent. When writing a sassy person think about the bigger picture and their personality. They are the smart ones, the ones who can’t be bossed or wrecked because they’re usually too intelligent. Show events which prove their high intelligence and knowledge, show others trying to insult or look better and how they tear them like paper. A note, they find a way to insult people without swear words because it is an art to them, so creative insults are really good tool.

They’re snappy. In all situations they will be quick to respond and take advantage of things. They’ll interrupt others, will have an answer for everything (or at least make it that way) and will find a way to deal with most stuff. Bear in mind they’re still human so don’t make them invincible.

They’re proud. Witty and sassy characters find a way to keep their head up and make others look up to them in the sky. They rarely 

accept ‘no’ to their requests and don’t allows others to make fun of them; they are the ones who make others look bad. But should they meet an equally intelligent, cunning or witty person they will either like or respect them.

They are honest – aren’t afraid to spit shit wherever they want.

They know how to embarrass others. For instance, I wrote a character who is the biggest smartass and know-it-all in school, therefore she is hated; when people come up to her, she mentally breaks them before they’ve finished their sentences. Witty people how to turn situations to their advantage, mainly conversations and use it against others.

They’re their own boss. Due to all said above, these people don’t take anyone’s crap and know their place in society.

Day in..

Today in my seminar, we were put into groups and had to talk about performance and being social. We got onto the subject of friends. My reply to this was;

"All my friends are fictional."

For the two other people to turn around and say;

"At least they don't back chat."

- Yeah they clearly haven't read any of the characters.
