27. He was a punk, she took ballet, what more can I say?

Mike looked at the holoscreen, the playlist module playing some song called Sk8ter Boi.

He wasn't so sure if he really was into the song, but it definitely wasn't his speed.

If he remembered correctly, the only people who were in the Headquarters today were himself and Dutch. They decided to make today a day to fine-tune the cars, and what better way to make the day faster than to put on some good tunes, right?

This song, though, had to go, in Mike's opinion. Did Dutch really listen to this kind of stuff?

He shifted his eyes, making sure Dutch wasn't nearby to see him switch songs, and switched to something a little more...fun.

It wasn't long until Mike started to sing to the lyrics as he went looking for his toolbox.

It was a long day.

A very long day.

Motorcity had its stressful times, but usually the Burner wasn't worn this thin. Today was just a giant cluserfuck, what with a wild goose chase that ended up with nothing accomplished other than two totalled cars that had to get repaired (one being his own) and having his face rubbed in his own stupid mistake.

It was all too much for him, and so there the Burner was, in the garage like he would normally be when his emotions had got the best of him, slumped in the corner trying to be strong and failing.

So it was decided. The next person he'd see coming into this room, he'd talk to them about it.

And that person was Dutch.

“I need a hug, come here.” he pleaded quietly from the corner.

Texas just strolls up and sits on Dutch like it ain’t no thang. Also, he has cheesy fries. Simply pushing him off might prove perilous. Choose your actions wisely, Dutch.

Hey, man, what's up?" the taller teen greeted with a grin. ((hi there o3o))

"H-Hey man!" Chuck couldn't help but let slip a smile, flipping a piece of his bangs away. "Not much, really! Just, uh... gettin' re-situated. What's up with you?"

Pirates!//Mike and Dutch

It wasn't so much the fear that he was feeling, but rather the anticipation. He was waiting for it. For the lever to pulled and the hinged door on the platform to fall from under him. Then the awful feeling of the coarse rope of the noose choking him to death.

With hands bound and noose secured, he could do nothing but wait. A man stepped forward. Commodore Abraham Kane, he commanded every man and ship in the fleet. The man held out a piece of rolled parchment and unfurled it. Clearing his throat he spoke in a powerful and harsh tone.

"Captain Michael Chilton has been accused of the crimes of Treachery and Treason of the highest order. He had also been accused of Piracy. For all preceding crimes he has been found guilty and has been sentenced to death by hanging." Kane rolled up the paper and tucked it into the inner pocket of his waistcoat. "Any last words, Traitor?"

"Just one." There was a pause and then a shout to an unseen person near the gallows. "NOW!"

"I’m not buying it, you don’t walk into a door and get a bruise like that!"

"I figured you wouldn't." Mike said letting out a sigh. "I did some solo scavenging and took a couple of nasty spills and got chased by some mutant rats.

57: Our muses are destined to find each other when they’re both lost and scared.

It was not easy. Getting stuck with one of the most notorious characters in all of Motorcity. The glam and glitter surrounding him. The prestige that lead to such a creative mind being allowed to let loose. To create art out of everything he touched and to feel the flow of the colours. To be an artist with the wielding torch and truly bring out the beauty in any vehicle.

And Dutch wasn’t too bad at it either.

But right now Duke and Dutch were clinging to each other. Or rather… Duke clung to Dutch, who was desperately praying for the first chance to split. 

It had started with them both stumbling into each other while fleeing. Dutch had been ducking arrows from the Terras and the path back had been obstructed by plant vines. Stumbling through the darkness the two had met and found comfort in seeing another living soul. It had not lasted long because when Dutch had figured out what it was that Duke was afraid off he just wanted to flee the scene. 

"HE WORE CROCS! WITH HIGH WAIST CHECKER PANTS!” Duke was bawling and drenching Dutch’s already tear stained shirt. “I’VE NEVER SEEN SUCH TACKY LOOKS! IT WAS HORRIBLE!”
