Farewells and Hellos | Sasuke & Menma
“Menma! Why haven’t you cleaned up any?!” His mother stepped into the room and looked around as her eye began to twitch; he turned his head slightly toward her. He was lying down on his bed he had zoned out and now he couldn’t focus on anything but the dark thoughts that plagued his mind.
He sat up and sighed running a hand through his hair, “Yeah yeah, don’t nag!” That immediately got him a fist to the head, he yelped and rubbed his noggin. “Ouch! Jeez sorry!”
“I don’t nag but I think this place should look a bit better besides you have guests coming over!” Menma resisted the urge to roll his eyes, knowing it would get him another hit. He doubted Sasuke would care if his room was a mess or if it was spotless, but to appease his mother he promised to have it more tidy within the hour. Which really only left him 30 minutes, it’s not like he had a lot of stuff to clean up it was just so boring having to pick up everything, he liked his chaotic mess.
After his mother left the room, he stretched and began to get back to work; he wished he wouldn’t have to do this. But he knew that the only reason why he did was because his mom was so happy he had friends and wanted him to be more likable and in her words ‘best way to give an impression is how one lives!’ Though he didn’t live so tidy but she didn’t seem to care, he sighed, it was just a room anyways.
He finished up barely in time, which is what he got for just zoning out randomly; his father came in and told him to come on down stairs that Sasuke should be there soon. Knowing the perfect little Uchiha he would be there early to try and swoon his mom. He didn’t get the point it wasn’t like she was going to marry him off to the Uchiha, which was what he first though but now he knew it was just cause he really liked his mom; and not in the good way.
Menma couldn’t help but keep glancing toward the kitchen where his mom was preparing the final touches and setting out plates. The whole house smelt so good there was a strong meat smell with a thick smell of vegetable. It made his stomach growl more than likely there were going to be tomatoes there always were when Sasuke came over.
