Proef, proeven en geproefd
A small food event that I really enjoyed was Proeft Rotterdam.
With our crazy foodaholic friends we went to a tasting organized by sustainable food entrepreneurs.
First we had some lovely oysters from De Oestercompagnie with champagne and then we scrolled around for a bit.
I bought a Madagascar fleur de sel with lemon in it, which is extremely delicious on meat and a lavender Sausage, from the Slagerij Ooteman. An effective combination of good sausage and blossomy flavors.
There were a few entrepreneurs that I really liked. It was the Sate-Man and cakes from “Ik maak je Taart”.
We also had some pasta parmegiano from Mangiare, which was a bit of a disappointment. Needed more salt, pepper and cognac. But that’s our personal taste.
And at almost at the end of the event we went to the wine corner of De Gouden Ton, where we met Sigurd who gave us some lovely champagne and tasted some white and red wines. I instantly fell in love with the Waka Pinot Noir. It is a rich, succulent and powerful Martinborough from New Zealand with dark berry, spice flavors and an oak refined taste.
I hope to attend an new edition of Proeft in the near future.
