I am Satomai Latora. I am a scientist, and I am originally from Hoenn. I enjoy researching Psychic type Pokémon, and currently reside in the region of Coela. I wish to receive information from other sources, so have decided to reach out here. Please, ask about my research, or your own.
Trying to get everything up and running again in the new year is far too hectic. How am I supposed to juggle sorting out the end of Arcmas while also starting up my research again?
It's enough to give me a migraine. And I can't handle that right now. It would interfere far too much.

It is my birthday today. December 28th. Happy birthday to me.
I shouldn't take so many breaks from my research in short succession. The last week of December is incredibly full for me. My husband's birthday, Christmas, my birthday, and New Year's Day. All within a week.
Though, I suppose it is nice to be around my family so much. If a little overwhelming. Especially with presents, now.
They feel empty. The gifts. They have no stories yet. My notebooks hold so much compared to them. So much blood and time. So many memories.
I wonder...
👪(FAMILY): If you already have kids, what's your relashionship with them? Do you consider yourself a good parent?
I have three children, though none of them are related to me by blood.
Klara is my oldest. We have an... interesting dynamic, to say the least. Her favourite food is the fried chicken I make, and she enjoys besting my husband in combat. She hasn't beaten me yet, though.
Sage is next in line at 20. She loves bombs and glitter, and made me a gorgeous butterfly patterned bomb for my birthday one year.
M is the youngest in our house, and is my husband's only child by blood. I'm reluctant to share too much about her, given how young she is, but she is my pride and joy.
I am not the perfect mother, I know that. But I do what I can.
What exactly is your work, anyways?
I dabble in a few things. It's always good to keep various skills sharp, should something go wrong.
Officially, I am a Doctor. I specialize in psychological fields and research, which can come in handy in man ways with creating psychological profiles and the like. My husband is the breadwinner in our house though, so I am free to indulge in my hobbies far more often.
Nowadays, I spend a lot of my time with other research. Psychic type Pokemon and their capabilities is my main focus as of now, though I have a few more projects ongoing as well. Experiments with Mega Evolution, thanks to Stacey (my wonderful Gardevoir), were going rather well for a time. Unfortunately, I seem to have hit a wall with that. I am hoping my current research will help.
Stance on shiny breeders?
There are ways to do it right, and many more ways to do it wrong. Unfortunately, a vast majority of people do it wrong. Overpopulation of any species is detrimental, and harmful in ways we cannot predict. All for a Pokemon that is a slightly different colour.
I once worked with a man who themed himself with full-white clothing. He themed his team the same way, through various forms and shinies. It was strange to see. I once asked how he had managed this, how many Pokemon he had rejected since they didn't match his aesthetic.
He didn't seem to care for the line of questioning. Though, Lazarus didn't like me much anyway, so I doubt my opinion matters to him.
Getting off track. I simply think it is a waste of time and effort, regardless of how lucrative the business can be. Especially with how wild shiny hunting has been evolving in recent years. There is some wonderful on-going research in Paldea that I recommend anybody take a look at, if they are interested in this sort of thing.
🙍♀️(WOMAN): How is/was your relashionship with your mother?
I had no relationship with my biological mother. She died due to complications from my birth.
I do have a mother, though. She came into my life when I was 12, and has been there for me since. She taught me how to cook and kept me fed while I learned, and now I can provide for my family in the same way. She gave me a safe place when I needed it the most. She did what she could to protect me.
She has been a true mother to me. Through everything. I appreciate her presence more than I think she will ever know.
