I really wish Satoshoko got more love in this fandom especially compared to other ships like Gojohime (no hate to the ones who ship it) but I'm surprised it's not more popular when it has so much potential. I feel like they’d understand each other the best after what happened with Geto. I can really see them growing closer. It sucks that Gege doesn’t focus on characterization that much, because it feels like they should’ve had more interactions.
I also find it cute how, in Phantom Parade, Gojo invites Utahime to Tokyo to help cheer her up.
Yes, I know she says she'd never fall in love with either of them, but I mostly interpreted that as her way of saying that, she is still there for them even if it's not necessarily romantic. I mean it would be a bit out of nowhere for her to think about romance in that moment. It also seems like a way for Gege to ensure that no one interprets the scene romantically, making it feel more genuine to their friendship.
I think that’s why I like this ship so much. I like that Gege didn’t force her to think about romantic feelings for either of them. It makes the bond feel more genuine she genuinely valued their friendship and saw them as people, not potential love interests. Her connection with them came from a place with no ulterior motives. It makes the ship feel more like a genuine bond that was earned and developed naturally.
Relationships change, people change, they're not linear. She said she'd never fall in love with either at that moment in time. We don't know if her feelings would have remained the same or not under different circumstances. Regardless, ships are just ships and they don't need to be canon.
okay so what we’re not going to do is villainize shoko.
jjk 261 spoilers, thoughts, and a brief analysis of shoko. (and touching on some sashisu stuff. more specifically the sash part.)
