Inspiration- 1) 90s hip-hop, 2) 90s skateboarding, & 3) Kung Fu flicks. . It’s a mix of a Wallaby/Desert/Chukka/Ninja/chinatown slippa Boot/ . Wallaby leather w/ crepe sole . 1) 💛 Wutang and the Wally need I say more? . 2) The chukka boot is as an early 90’s skate shoe classic. Shout out to Matt Hensley 🤜🏽🤛🏽 cut off fatigues & chain wallets . 3) I was contemplating a design for submission, I was thinking about going through my old sketchbooks & papers. My design process is pretty random. I was talking w/ @nubia_esny about the movie Hero. The premise is about the sacrifices people & groups have to make in order for a kingdom to form & operate. There at least 2 sides to the kingdom story, innocent ppl taxed, terrorized, pillaged & killed in the name of a tyrant. While on the other hand, the kingdom is formed to keep outside tyrants from coming in & making their own kingdom, strength in numbers. Kingdoms battle kingdoms and kingdoms are annexed by other kingdoms, & all kingdoms come to an end. . And with all of the Asian hate that is going on I thought I right to highlight some of the culture 🙌🏽 . When the inspiration shot appeared on the screen it immediately reminded me that I have looked at this design before and wanted to tweak it, out of costume design & into more wearable functional street fashion. So it all came together & I am summitting, . The Shaka Boot, .
