According to Wikipedia, the fountain at the north end of Forsyth Park park was added in 1858 and is reminiscent of fountains in the Place de la Concorde in Paris. At that time, Parisian urban planning was centered on the development of residential neighborhoods radiating out from a central green space. Absolutely loved the various “squares” throughout this section of Savannah. While we only visited a handful, I read that there are 22 squares in Savannah!
