okay. so that marathon...
I LITERALLY CAN’T FEEL MY LEGS
I had to wake up at 5am to get ready and it was still super dark outside. like. see-the-constellations-dark. and cold. super cold.
when we did reach there the 5km run was to start at 7:30 !! and there was practically no place to sit there and we had to move around the place a lot cause my dad’s and his friend were (kind of) VIPs there... like... my dad works in the forest department of Govt and is in a comparatively higher post. and the forest department had organized this marathon for awareness about saving the environment.
so just walking around with him tired me out.
now during the marathon. it was in a slightly hilly region so it was 2.5 km uphill and then 2.5 km return (ie downhill)
let me tell ya. I was almost relieved that there is a downhill part in the end which would be easier.
when we started out I had a plan. and it was a good plan okay. it was that I’d start with walking for the first 1km, then start speedwalking the next 1.5. and after the 2.5 km mark. where they’d give a little energy dring and water, during the return, I’d start jogging and eventually running for the last part.
see. good plan right. and surely nothing could go wrong. WELL, YOU’RE WRONG. my dad. that’s what could go wrong. he kept pushing me to run faster from start and go ahead of him and meet them at the refreshment point.
so I had to start by jogging fast. and guess what. my legs went NUMB in the first km already. yay. I felt so sick by the refreshment point, I almost threw up. (i didn't don't worry)
during the return, my only motivation was the breakfast my dad’s friend had arranged for us in this really good hotel near the marathon point. AND SAVING THE ENVIRONMENT, OF COURSE, save the earth kids it’s very important
so after the finish, they gave a medal to every first-time runner ;
and I slept for like 5 hrs after I got home
SO THAT WAS THE STORY OF THE TIME I RAN WALKED A MARATHON
I was proud to lead a debate celebrating Scotland's national native woodlands, one that led to positive contributions from across the chambe
