Review of Krypton 2x10
YES I KNOW IT’S BEEN THREE MONTHS SINCE THE LAST REVIEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It got taken off All4 before I could watch it, and I’ve also been busy, and of course there’s the current crisis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT I’VE WATCHED IT NOW ON AMAZON PRIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The last episode EVER (for now at least), and HOLY SHIT IT. WAS. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As always, spoilers under the cut!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the best season finales for anything AND THIS SHOW DESERVED BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Val calling Zod and telling him “we’re coming for you”, and then calling him an arsehole. Iconic.
Each group thought each other was dead and it was so heartbreaking!!!!
I loved the moment between Jayna and Dev, and them quickly breaking apart once Lyta enters the room
I actually really loved the moment between Adam and Nyssa as well, Nyssa reassuring him that Val will do everything he can to help, and being impressed that Adam added time travel to the Zeta Beam device (I mean I did not expect that)
Seg still mourning Kem, and Kem will now be remembered as a member of House El, as Seg’s brother.
NYSSA STOLE THE FUCKING ZETA BEAM DEVICE HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Adam desperately trying to stop her, trying to get Val to stop her. I was impressed, that she did that, that she played Adam like that, but also shocked because she stole the device!!!!!!!!!
Lyta, Dev and Jayna resolving to stop Zod by themselves, but then the rest of the rebels turning up
Also Lyta just straight up disowning Zod was brilliant
Their toast to Kem was heartbreaking, it really was, and Seg saying that there won’t be laughs because he’s gone
I really wanted to see Seg’s reaction to Nyssa taking the Zeta Beam, though
Why did that Sagitari betray them? How did he even get found out?
I did like that other one, though, because he clearly didn’t like Zod’s methods. As I’ve said before, Zod’s tactics only go so far, and if there’s several dissenters and more every day, that’s proof.
Val really does care for Adam, and to be honest, THIS scene was pretty heartbreaking as well. It was heartwarming at first, with Adam saying that Val and Seg were family, and that Krypton was home now...but then we get his backstory. His mother died in childbirth, his father blamed him for it, nobody really stuck around in Adam’s life...it’s no wonder he felt a need to prove himself to someone, anyone, but most of all...himself. I really just wanted to give him a big hug in this scene.
The rebels using them being found out to their advantage, and the “Rondor Piss” guy deciding to stand with them.
Seg just straight up going into Kandor and yelling “ZOD!!” was brilliant.
His speech was great, and then when Lyta shows up and also gives a great speech was epic. AND THEN EVERYONE REFUSING TO ARREST THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fucking Iconic.
“General...would you care to step outside?”
Adam taking down two Sagitari whilst bed-bound was brilliant.
Seg taunting him and then him and Lyta teaming up to take down Zod was fucking amazing, as was Jayna being totally badass.
Nyssa seeing the Thanagarians was great.
Seg nearly killing Zod but Lyta stopping him because there has to be a better way
The E4 trailer showed Zod saying “prepare for the conquest of Earth”, and I was shocked because holy shit, they were going for Earth. It turning out to be a Black Mercy dream was actually a cool twist.
Drunk Val and Drunk Adam are hilarious. Also Adam showing off his jetpack and then proceeding to smack into the ceiling was so damn funny.
LOBO!!! And again Seg being just so unimpressed by him throughout the whole scene, but making a deal with him anyway.
THAT FUCKING ENDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BRAINIAC WITH JOR-EL HEADING FOR EARTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY’RE GOING TO TAKE OVER EARTH!!!!!!!!!!!!! And with Jor-El superpowered that is going to be devastating.
So it had a BRILLIANT set up for season 3, AND THEN THEY CANCELLED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY CANCELLED IT AND IT DESERVES SO MUCH BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This cannot be the end, even if it might seem to be for now!!!!!!!!!!!!! Honestly, aside from one episode, this season was bloody awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is not the end of the reviews. I am going to be rewatching S1 soon, partly for fic purposes, and I have decided that I will be reviewing each episode. Thanks for reading these ones!!! And tell people about Krypton, because this show deserves to finish its’ story, and all the characters deserve great arcs.
