WARNING: Graphic surgical photos. Well, we have good news and bad news to report about Little Love. The good news is she’s awake and recovering well, and they removed the ovarian obstruction (a bunch of rotted, infected egg material). The bad news is, as soon as they opened her up, they realized her body was filled with tiny cancerous tumors, too many and too adhered to her organs to remove them all. One of the wonderful doctors whom we love and trust called during the surgery and we agreed on the course of action we’d both thought was best... to remove what they could of the cancer (which wasn’t much) wake her up, and let her live her remaining time back home with her family and friends until she tells us she’s uncomfortable and it’s time to use humane euthanasia. She might have only a few days or many months left in this world, but until she shows signs that she is no longer enjoying her life or is in pain, we will make her as happy as possible. The surgery bill remains the same, and we thank all those of you who have so generously donated to her care. In honor of Little Love and all those like her whose bodies are exploited by humans, we implore you to stop eating eggs. If you knew the extent of the cruelty imposed on these innocent beings for your food, you would find alternatives in a heartbeat. To donate toward her care, give on Venmo @blackberrycreeksanctuary or through the “one-time donation” link in our bio. 100% of your donation is tax-deductible. @medicalcenterforbirds #loveoneanother #generosity #savealofe #henfriends #friendsnotfood #chickensofinsta #fuckcancer #chickensaspets #chickensofinstagram #chickensofig #vetmed #veterinarymedicine #vetmedicine #birdlovers #petchickens #chickenslove #sanctuary #cancersucks #chickensareawesome #rescuedhens #bekind #farmanimalsanctuary #farmanimalrescue #littlelove (at Medical Center For Birds) https://www.instagram.com/p/CLGOLhPMH_E/?igshid=19vojdhqwqefo
