hello!!! I saw what you said about the hydra captain america and I'm so happy you said that!! like thank u for calling out bs like this :) (please save steve thx)
omg you’re welcome!! and honestly let me write steve rogers marvel what the fuck
I’m still angry about this bullshit with Hydra Agent Captain America - despite people defending it on the grounds that it’s “just fiction” or “just comics” or “not permanent” or “you’re too sensitive” or whatever the hell - No. Just no. This is not okay, it’s nothing like on the same level as an upsetting plot twist, or even a throwaway problematic joke, this is deplorable on the part of Nick Spencer and whoever else at Marvel is directly responsible for this decision.
That’s about reality, not fiction.
I won’t support, accept, or ignore Marvel’s or Nick Spencer’s behavior.
But what Steve Rogers represents to me is standing up to bullies - to people who take whatever power they have and use it to cause pain, who think hurting others is funny, who are proud of themselves for it, who think that cruelty makes them clever, that their insensitivity makes them superior. People like Nick Spencer.
So I still love Steve Rogers. I know if he could fight this himself, he would.
wait but isn't stan lee jewish??
yes, but what one jewish person says regarding the issue doesnt invalidate the thoughts/feelings about it from the rest of the jewish community.
How the fuck is Steve a conservative when he's always been fighting for the underdog and been one for most his life. Plus lots of conservatives are against vaccines and Steve would fucking flip when he finds out bc a lot of those diseases could've killed him as a kid but now ppl won't get their kids protections against those vaccines bc they think they'll get autism from them which isn't even true so he releases a long angry video about it (Captain America says: VACCINATE YOUR FUCKING KIDS)
OK LITERALLY!!!!!! and like??????? hydra wouldnt have even accepted him??? according to this comic he’s been hydra his whole life which makes no sense? bc hydras whole thing is eugenics and steve was irish (ppl did not like the irish during the 20s and 30s) and in very poor health. steve and people like him are literally on hydras hit list i ???????
also “this isn’t freedom. this is fear” is not something a fucking hydra officer says what the fuck
actual friendly reminder to not let other marvel writers suffer because of nick spencer’s mistakes!!!! please just boycott specifically nick spencer’s writing, especially captain america: steve rogers, because otherwise marvel won’t get the message!
anyway stan lee thinks hydra cap was a clever idea and that he thinks theyre gonna make a movie out of it. in unrelated news nothing is good and holy anymore
To every single douchecanoe out there saying, “If you’re upset about this plot twist then you don’t understand how comics work,” and some of you even actually having the temerity to use this to fuel your bullshit ‘fake fans’ gatekeeping:
SHUT THE FUCK UP.
All of that is irrelevant. The point is, the fact that something like this being used as a plot twist, as a publicity stunt, is taking a shit on REAL PAIN THAT REALLY HAPPENED.
SO STOP SAYING “OH THAT’S JUST COMIC BOOKS, LOL!”
