ᯓ⠀META DUMP #1.
so, under the read more you’ll find about a dozen assorted headcanons for a variety of my muses!⠀for simplicity’s sake, i’ll list out all the muses whose headcanons will be listed underneath— so you can choose whether or not you’d like to read it!
featuring:⠀denji, quanxi, fumihiko takaba, kaku, trafalgar law, silvers rayleigh.
denji has undiagnosed avoidant personality disorder. avpd often develops in children who grow up in environments filled with rejection, humiliation, or constant criticism. repeated emotional invalidation wires the brain to expect shame in social interaction, shaping a life-long fear of disapproval. it’s something that, along with a plethora of other undiagnosed and not acknowledged issues, trailed behind him like a shadow all his life. he doesn't know what's wrong with him, most of the time, and he never will.
i personally do not adhere with the commonplace fanon idea that denji adopts the ‘hayakawa’ last name. he personally believes he was the reason aki and power died— and he would never, ever take something that’s not his. after the events of part one, he drowns that feeling, those emotions, those memories, but to no avail. when they eventually bubble up again during the ‘popsicle stick’ scene, he doesn’t feel anything. and that’s what hurts him the most.
quanxi’s muscle density is nearly 52 times that of a human being, giving her a true “blast core” of a body, despite looking as slender as she is— she is tougher, more agile, and overall stronger than any normal human being by a landslide, allowing her to collide and deal definitive blows to a good majority of devils, fiends, and monstrosities alike without ever having to turn into her hybrid form. when that comes into play, however, she is leagues above any other hybrid we’ve ever seen in the series.
quanxi is incredibly old, and to be incredibly precise, she’d be about 1800 years old. she was born during the three kingdoms period, and eventually formed a bond with the bow devil when she was in her thirties. she stopped aging permanently after the fact— her age only really showing through her hair, as it continued to lose color, until it became what it is now, a very light grey.
takaba is an enormous fan of manzai comedy— and from what we see from his ‘fight’ with kenjaku, he would’ve wanted nothing more than to be part of a comedy duo, where he plays the titular “boke” (ボケ), or “funny man.” as of the ending of the manga, he’s still looking for someone to join him… to no avail.
on the topic of comedy— his favorite comedians, and favorite inspirations are beat takeshi / takeshi kitano, for his absolute deadpan surrealism, and ken shimura, whom he generally just adores. he used to do the “aiin!” pose to himself in the mirror, before he had to go out and perform— saying he could channel bakatono that way. he hasn’t really delved outside of japanese comedy all that much, but if he did, he’d absolutely love jim carrey.
kaku is in possession of a godly sleeper build. the grueling training he underwent to become part of cp9, as well as his five years spent working for galley-la as a shipwright have sculpted his body to perfection. while he’s not defined by any means, he looks incredibly strong— under his clothes, which are baggy mostly as a way to go unnoticed. he generally does not want to be perceived physically. he’s your friend, okay? trust. as a reference for what his body actually looks under there, have these.
re: kaku’s gender identity + sexuality. kaku is a trans butch lesbian, who goes by masculine pronouns. for the love of god, do not be weird about this. my ted-talk about the inherent transgenderism of zoan devil fruits will be for another day— but for now, you get this. he’s nice, he’s beefy, he’s kind, and he’s always known who he was. 🦒
law has very obvious vitiligo, mostly concentrated around the right side of his face, and his upper body, with some very minor markings spotting his legs / lower body. the common fanon theory for him having vitiligo is linked to the amber lead poisoning, but i don’t necessarily agree with it. in my opinion, law was always born with it, and it never really changed. it definitely exacerbated it, that’s a given, but never too much.
law does tattoos, as we see from his backstory (read the novel <3), and has sort of gotten a passion out of doing them. not only on himself, but has tattooed every member of his crew— at least once before, with his more notable and repeated clients being shachi and ikkaku. penguin, uni, and jean bart in second place, and clione, hakugan and bepo dead last, with only one tattoo each.
only oda could come up with the stupid ass idea that rayleigh and shakky are in an “open relationship,” which literally only ever includes rayleigh sleeping around with women, and her ‘waiting’ for him, which not only is incredibly weird and out of character for the both of them, but is also harmful, as it perpetuates and reinforces the idea that rayleigh is the “desirable older man” and shakky as the “faithful wife waiting at home for him.” PERSONALLY, unless specified otherwise, i’d much rather go with the idea of them being open, together, or nothing at all. you know, the type of couple who approaches you at a bar, says they like your vibe? you know. i love them as a ship, and i do agree with the idea of them being together / married, but i just HAD to rectify that trainwreck. anyways, any shakky writers, haha?
rayleigh has published about a dozen books under the penname “john l. silver.” they’re mostly adventure novels written from the point of view of a young man out at sea, stuffed full of over-ambitious metaphors, impossible (even for this world) feats, and prose that feels more like reading a poem that’s been going on for far too long, than reading an actual novel. despite all of this, though, he’s had a pretty decent reception to his releases— he stopped only recently, with the events of marineford and the entire world waking up, so to speak.
