The @Volkswagen Golf GTI is all the car 85 percent of people could ever need, but the big-daddy, 292-horsepower Golf R is the poster child for wants slathered atop needs. The extra horsepower and 4MOTION all-wheel drive are butter melting through your daily bread. Cholesterol never felt so good. I will proclaim, however, that this is the only car in production today where I prefer the automatic over the manual. The DSG is biblical. The manual is too rubbery. So, in fact, there is an exception to “Manuel only drives a manual.” Still, #SaveTheManuals, #SaveTheManuels and #GiveaShift. (at Malibu, California)
