Recently, pugmarks left by the Malayan Tigers have been discovered, which show signs of their existence in Gunung Aais. To confirm their existence, as well as the number of surviving tigers in the forests, the local authorities decided to travel deeper into the forest to investigate. However, the rivers swell up due to the rain making it impossible to travel on foot. The team had to set up their own bamboo raft to go further into the forest.
After many difficulties, the team successfully set camera traps to capture actual footage of the Malayan Tigers and disarmed snares set up by the poachers during the process. The threats to the Malayan Tigers still remain today. They are struggling to survive in their own backyard. The Malayan Tigers are important to our ecosystem and they are a national symbol of Malaysia. Together, we need to combine our strengths as Malaysian and save Harimau Malaya. 🐯
