Master Drabble List:

Break Me: I will write an angsty drabble about our characters.

"Do it again."

The words were easy and simple, cold even, but they had a big impact on both Stefan and Katherine. “No, don’t-“, the brunette uttered, her hands fighting against the restraints, but her plea was cut short by her agonizing scream. Stefan didn’t know how Bonnie had figured out how to do it, but the only thing that mattered was that it was a new spell, and that it hurt. Seeing Katherine panting in pain, magically enhanced restraints limiting her movements, Stefan could only imagine what she was going through right now, how much pain it caused her, but he knew there was no other choice. Bonnie had been able to create a new spell that was aimed at vampires only, and gave the feeling of having a wooden stake put through their hearts. Since the pain was technically all in the vampire's head, she was able to do it over and over again without actually causing any harm; a variant of the aneurysm spell. 

Once Katherine had regained her senses, Stefan crouched down in front of her to be able to look her in the eyes. "Let's try this again," he said, ignoring his most primal instinct to care for people and make sure they wouldn't get hurt. "Where is Elena?" he asked, his voice stern but laced with a hint despair. He'd only lost sight of her for a few hours when she went over to Caroline, but now she'd been missing for a day already, and the only thing that Stefan knew was that Katherine had said she was in danger just a few days prior to that. "I told you, Stefan, I don't know," Katherine said, obviously still recovering from the spell that had been cast at her but, even now, using the confidence she always seemed to have in her voice. 

Stefan sighed in defeat, he just wanted to know where she was, and the fact that Katherine kept her mouth shut only infuriated him more. "The problem is, Katherine," he said bitter, "I don't believe anything you tell me anymore." With that, he left the basement cell realizing she wasn't about to talk, taking Bonnie out with him before closing the door.  He'd find a way to save Elena, if it was the last thing he did. 

"Stefan, wait!" Katherine suddenly said, desperation lacing her voice. "You can't do this, you can't leave me here. You won't find Elena without me," she said, trying several angles to make Bonnie free her. Stefan simply turned around in silence, looked at her once last time, but then locked the door and walked away, leaving her behind with her pleas and excuses.

[AU] Saving Katherine {Damon & Katherine}

All Katherine had known for the past one hundred or so years had been complete darkness, nothing more than the blackness of her eyelids, her eyes had not opened for over a century now. Her last memory was one that was now blurry, a faded image in the back of her mind. The vampires had been discovered and the men of Mystic Falls had intended to burn them all alive. Little did they know of the tomb beneath the church, a place in which they all had taken refuge from the flames. But once the fire had died down, a spell had trapped them behind the large, stone door, encasing them inside without blood. Eventually, many of them had been driven to madness with the lack of blood, countless fights had taken place, blame had been tossed from one person to another. There was a new culprit every day and that vampire would then become the focus of the anger, each person venting their endless frustration on whomever the victim became that day. Katherine had been blamed many times over the years, accused of being the one to seal the fate they were now faced with. Perhaps they were right, but thankfully, her superior age had kept her alive, the other vampires were no match for her strength considering that she had turned many of them. Eventually, the lack of blood had cast them all into a helpless state. Their bodies began to desiccate and they were each faced with ten to twenty years of utter and complete agony. The tomb had been filled with screams of pain, their bodies drying out, veins scrubbing together like sandpaper in an effort to find some sort of life source. And finally, after twenty years of excruciating pain, the vampires had been given a relief as their bodies had shut down completely and each one of them had been plunged into an eternity of darkness. Perhaps Katherine should have felt sadness towards her current state, after all, she valued her own life and freedom above anything else, she had spent her entire vampire life fighting for it. But the relief of no longer experiencing such pain was too much not to be grateful for and the vampire was content with the darkness that engulfed her. Even in her unconscious state, the hint of a smile existed upon her lips towards the sweet relief of the fire in her veins finally dying down.

Raised voices, the sound of various heartbeats, the scent of human blood, each one of these things infiltrated her unconscious state. Katherine did not have the ability to move, nor even open her eyes, but the nothingness that surrounded her was disturbed by the sounds of life, the life of others. But she shot this assumption down, no one knew of the tomb, no one knew that she still existed. Perhaps it was her own life finally being kind to her, providing her with some sort of dream to give her a break from the darkness. Whatever it was, it seemed incredibly real and the female hung onto each sound she heard, listening carefully to the sound of approaching footsteps, holding on to each noise, any noise, anything that was not the silence of the tomb.
