For Lacie, Stefan feels--well, he's not sure what he feels. Because Lacie is someone he had once considered to feed from.
But there was those conversations and maybe he appreciates the faith she has in him. She once told he can't be as bad as he thinks. He knows she's wrong but her faith is something of interest to him. Why would she care? She owes him nothing and same goes for him.
Nothing close to a sister and not quite friend either. Friends...friends know what he is.
Maybe confusion, more than anything. And interest. Lacie cares and he wishes she didn't because maybe he wouldn't want to let her down if he did something. {--caring is something he's allergic to, at least, that's what he says, but he's unknowingly putting effort here.}
