Bull. By Vladimir Lysenko. Savitsky Collection, Karakalpakstan Museum of Art, Nukus. This is from a collection of Soviet art collected at great risk to himself by Savitsky during the period where avant garde was considered extremely anti-Soviet. Artists were exiled, imprisoned or killed for depicting anything other than propaganda Soviet Realism. The collection, housed in a remote location in Uzbekistan, is under threat due to the Uzbek government’s disregard for its value. #bucketlist #art #savitsky #soviet #lysenko #artunderthreat
Ivan Shishkin and Konstantin Savitsky - Morning in a pine forest (1886)
This soundscape is a kind of collaboration of year 2012 and 2013. Some brilliants from the past with fresh wispering voices of tomorrow dating on the landing place. Stay quiet and listen to their dialogue.

This publication is the result of many years` work based on the author`s diploma dissertation, which was defended in 1990 in Tashkent Theatre and Art Institute. Archival documents of the Museum, Savitsky`s family archive and recollections of a wide range of people who knew the founder of Nukus Museum are the basis of this book. Publication of the book was carried out with the support of club members “Friends of Nukus Museum” (Russian and English versions). The publication in the French language will receive support from the Embassy of France in Uzbekistan.
The presentation of the book will be today at Pushkin House, 5A Bloomsbury Square, London, UK."
