/I totally forgot this was in my drafts omg
♚ Do you agree with fandom interpretation of your character?
Considering that I pay next to no attention to the large portion of the fandom (I literally follow only one arc v blog on my main account) I’d have to say that I don’t really know how the masses interpret him. If they interpret him as JUST a fool who’s only good for comedic relief than I’ll say no. But looking at some of the posts i’ve seen and the thought some people put into Sawatari’s character, then I’d say yes, I do agree with them(at least a little).
♧ Any part of their canon portrayal you dislike?
Yeaah, Sawatari in the anime is shown to have the skill set to master new things rather quickly (ex: new decks, Pendulum summoning, heck–he even caught onto entertaining rather quickly AND is great at it.) and yet– despite his off-screen win in the early episodes(?), he’s usually only shown to win duels when he’s tag-teaming with others. I don’t completely dislike it, but I strongly believe that he could win more duels than he’s lost.
✍ Has new canon material ever forced you to adjust your headcanons?
❀ Share a headcanon you have not shared.
Mmmmmm– While Shingo did have both parents involved in his life at one point in time, his mother ultimately left/divorced Mr. Sawatari while Shingo was rather young. Thus, he had little to no parental influence while growing up, besides whatever attention his father was willing to give him, when he wasn’t focused on working that is.
